From cask at Charlies. Pours dark brown to black with a diminished tan head. Light liqourice and roasted aroma, medium sweet. Liqourice and roasted malt flavour. Lingering liqourice flavour into the finish. Light sweet flavour. Ends with a light bitterness and a nice sweet liqourice note. Really great!

RPillsbury (115) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2008
Cask at the Lincolnshire Poacher, Nottingham. Weak aroma of roasted malt and a touch of chocolate if you really stick your nose in there. Flavour was better but not that well balanced of dark fruits, liquorice and coffee. It was also too watery. Disappointing.

Cask at the Cricketers, Bedford. Very dark brown with an off white head. Roast chocolate malt aroma. Musty dark sweet and sour taste with some coffee notes. Quite bitter. Thought it was a bit heavy and unsubtle.

Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Clear dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, milk chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Fukito (682) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2007
Cask @ Rook & Gaskill, november 07. Really deep black/ copper color with a medium, beige creamy head (sparkler). Dark caramel taste with some earthy/ vinous notes, through very slight and with some molasses traces. Warming. Medium palate, some malts with a strange spicy/ earthy finnish. Restrained earthy/ spicy aroma with some molasses. Quite nice mild porter with earthy notes.
