3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (23918) - Oamaru, - OCT 28, 2006
An orange beer with a lazing light brown head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity and flowery hoppy. The flavor is sweet and very fruity combined with a light floral hop note, leading to a bitter end with a caramel note lingering for a long time.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2012
From BA (Sept 2006): New bottle design, the label now has Demeter, the Godess of Spring and Fertility on it.
Poured very nicely, good clean light amber colour with a solid white foaming head, which stayed for the whole pint.
Floral, slight hoppy aroma, nothing heavy, but pleasant and almost sweet.
The Maris Otter barley gives the whole beer a slightly sweetish flavour, which in my taste, gave it a weaker mouthfeel than I had hoped for. The beer is still very, very drinkable.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kwik-lime (647) - London, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2012
Malty, some hop bitterness only really comes through a bit in the aftertaste. Drinkable session beer but a long way from being inspiring and I’d expect a spring seasonal to be a bit more refreshing.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 DruncanVeasey (5136) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 29, 2011
Clear bottle, 4.3%. Another one that got away. I’ve been given this one several times and scoffed at it thinking it was rubbish and I’d already rated it. Only one of those assumptions was correct. Gold under a slim white slick. Standard aniseedy, boiled sweet Bateman’s aroma. I’m trying to turn my normal rating procedure on its head and only drink beers like this when I’ve already had a couple, and they can’t hurt me. It’s damp and slightly sulphurous like uncooked dough sprinkled with fennel seed, like every other Bateman’s beer I’ve ever tasted. Just can’t be bothered drinking it. Dead beer. The formula is getting deeply tedious.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Martin243 (242) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2011
Attractive dark golden beer, thin off-white head.Didn’t get much aroma, which should have given me a clue. I was expecting lots of light, juicy floral elderflower or similar flavours, and while there’s a hint, It didn’t deliver the refreshing spring experience I was hoping for.So , a light medium bitter that is perfectly acceptable, but neither offends or excites.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ChaxUK (2) - Derbyshire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2010 does not count
[500ml bottle] A nicely dark coloured bitter (although the taste in my opinion seemed more akin to a pale ale), It was stronger tasting than i expected with a very earthy flavour, it also seemed to have a slight spicy kick deep within.
