Pours a dark copper with a thin white head. Malty, hoppy with a strong aroma of grass and leaf. Earthy and bitter with malt and hops. Tis alright! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear copper color with excellent full head and lace. Sweet caramel malt and dry biscuit well-balanced by traditionsl peppery floral British hops. Not complicated, easy drinking. Terrific session beer. .

North American bottled version @ 5.0% abv. Pours a medium copper color through and through, a bit of haze settles throughout. Nose has fruity esthers - stone fruits and chewy, nutty malt esthers which is almost oak-like with a slight note of wet tobacco. Minimal fine head that leaves a soap-sud like lacing. Soft toffee, light caramel sweetness, a moderate amount of smooth bittering finishes the sip. I expected a bit more character from the Goldings hops, not as floral as other notable ESBs from across the pond. Noble aroma of the Liberty peeks through. A well balanced hop combo with a fairly pleasing finish which has just enough of a snap to garner another sip. However in the end, malt dominates but it’s missing that certain something that makes a complete beer.

Malziger, süßfruchtiger Geruch mit Noten von Pflaume und Sherry. Beginnt malzig-dunkel. Mitte schokoladig-würzig, etwas dumpf. Malzschokoladiger Abgang, moderat trockenbitter. Kaum Überraschungen - hätte mehr erwartet.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Dark amber pour with a small pale yellow head. Honey and caramel malts is about all I get on the nose with a touch of coffee. Honey sweetness and bitter, harsh coffee in the taste. Didn’t like this one at all

dark amber/light brown rather clear liquid, pours a slightly silky, thin, pale tanned head. a slightly musty, grape hop aroma with weak malt and stingy character. there is a nice sweet sour twang to the aroma, reminding on grape fruit and earth. The taste has a slightly weird balance of a wide and crispy bitterness with honey-like sweetness. the stingy bitterness unfortunately does not support this as a whole and sort of vanishes quickly into the background while being all over the place at the same time. the texture is a bit watery but has a pleasant dryness to it that saves some of the feel. carbonation is a bit too heavy in relation to this but is manageable. the structure seems to be a bunch of decent but weak aspects brought together not very well, leaving the end product without true character, but with a decent entirety.

Chestnut brown with a decent off-white head. Hoppy aroma with grass, resin , mild licorice and some smoke/metallic notes. A mild bitter with a slight sourness. Bitter finish, which lasts and is quite warming. Overall, not too shabby and a favourite of the Batemans offerings.
