Pour is a copper with a large white head. Aroma is not much. Some roasted malt is about all i’m getting off this one. Flavor is again very light with mostly roasted malt but it has a nasty metalic finish. This is not something i’m going to try again.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2006 From bottle. Clear copper appearance with slight head that lasted till the end. very slight sweet aroma, but very slight. Initial taste had a harsh bitterness to it but gradually improved to a tasty brew. Maybe had a metallic tinge to it. I did expect more, however as it says it was "a good honest ale".

11/04/2009: Bateman’s Triple XB... Aroma: Oxidized aroma; hints of vanilla and apple. Appearance: Ruddy ruby copper color with a fair off-wite head. Flavor: Dry, oxidized (cardboard), delicately floral; slightly buttery; mild bitterness. Palate: Medium-light; calm and smooth. Overall: Typical pastuerized bitter that has sat in the bottle on a ship or loading dock for too long.

a little watery on the palate, so the flavors are a little subdued for my liking. not bad, but definitely nothing special.

This beer is pretty boring. Nothing special, decent barley detection- but very insignificant flavor. Just a mark above macrobrew lagers

Pours amber colour with almost no head and almost no carbonation. Tastes bitter and has a long dry and bitter aftertaste. not bad, not special.

Bottle. Pours a clear lighter amber with a small, white head that leaves spotty lace. Aroma and taste are both a bit off. Big diacetyl in the nose plus must, sweet caramel, honey, roadside diner pancake syrup. Taste is old, moldy malt; dusty malt, toast. The addition of wheat here may be the culprit or maybe it’s just gone pretty bad in the bottle. Very strange.

Clear brown ale that fizzes in the palate. No head and a slightly soapy taste.

Clear amber brown body and beige thin head. Breakfast cereal, figs, bark and sandy. Clear bitterness and watery. Pretty dull to be honest. Not great in terms of flavour. Neh. (50cl bottle)

Mmm, quite average. Dark amber/brown in colour. I did not find that this had much taste really - slightly sweet, a bit malty, but little hoppiness and strength. Nasty Nick Bateman? No, more like Rubbish Bateman’s!!!
