Bottle from local shop. Amber beer with a small head and some lacing. Aroma of toffee. Taste is also toffee, dry bitter hops and lots of malts. Medium bodied. A very nice beer for a pasteurised bottled version.

Cunningham (2972) - Halden, NORWAY - APR 11, 2013

Appearance: Clear brown amber color with a fine off white head that leaves a nice lacing.
Aroma: Malty, vanilla, fruity and mild hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Fruity, malty and a fine hoppy background.
Overall impression: I really enjoy British premium bitter from bottles. A higher carbonation lifts the beer up a bit.
Personal stats: Bottle from Spar at Stansted Airport in Essex, England.

An excellent English Bitter. A cautionary note to hopheads: English Bitters balance hops and malt and therefore will not be bitter enough for you. For you I suggest putting a pine tree in a juicer and then adding the liquid to this beer.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear brownish red. Aroma is malted, slightly of twiglets and a little smoky. Taste is pretty good - again, slightly smoky. Hops come through with a bitter after taste. Medium carbonation. Comment down there V from Imaena amuses me. What do you expect from going in Tesco? Shame a massive supermarket doesn’t consult the all knowing oracle that is ratebeer to only stock beers that rate over 95...

Dark pale ales throw me still...but this does have a decent dark taste to it. tastes stronger than its gravity.

Another run of the mill bitter. how there is space in the market for all of these brews on the Tesco shelves I will never know.
