Bière bu en bouteille peut être à peine trop chaude. Une bière entre l’ambrée et la blonde niveau couleur et très peu de mousse. Cette bière sympathique fait clairement ressortir le malt, sympa mais pas inoubliable

Out of date bottle. (I’m doing a cellar mop up job). I used to like this beer a lot, 20 odd years ago. Either it’s changed, or this bottle is showing signs of it being past its best. But probably, it’s just me. I’ve got more poncey, maybe. Shame. Ponces get on my nerves.

Fruchtiger Geruch und im Abgang ein bisschen röstig. Leider auch recht leer. Schade, da hätte ich mir mehr Geschmack erwartet.

With a nod to my learned friend Cantabrian, of whom I tasted this beer independently, I’m afraid this is love. This is the beer of my heritage, having been brewed across the Humber from the land of my beloved Mother’s nativity.
It has good turbidity with a cream coloured head and a deep nut coloured amber body. The aromas were of classic English malty amber with stonefruit, walnut and pecan characters along with some nicely understated Fuggles hops and their fragrant woody character.
The flavours are slightly sweet with nods to the stonefruit, amber and wood along with a very gentle pinching bitterness. The flavour left on may palate was of apricot tart, Bakewell Tart, gorgeousness and a lingering desire to be sitting on a bar stool in Lincolnshire having a session on this.
Yes, love indeed.

Interesting aroma of canned/jar champignon mushrooms. Not particularly unpleasant, but not the nose I expected from a beer. It is the besic caramel malt, less biscuit than a Lancaster, for example, and more bourbon. There is also a herbal hopiness which makes itself more evident at the finish. Still, it is nice. The note from Mtwhitney below is rather amusing. I mostly agree with him.

Malty. Slugs seem to like it. Drunk to death on beer. Slugs know how to go. Not bad at all.

Bottle from local shop. Amber beer with a small head and some lacing. Aroma of toffee. Taste is also toffee, dry bitter hops and lots of malts. Medium bodied. A very nice beer for a pasteurised bottled version.
