Cask handpump at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Golden colour with slim white head. Mostly malty flavour with some fruit. OK.

(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden with a small creamy head. Incredibly lovely floral hop aroma. Light-bodied and fresh with a dry, harmonious bitterness. A pleasant - and organic - experience. "Yella bellies" was supposedly a nickname for mustard pickers. 171001

Despite being well before it's "best before" date, tasted quite un-interesting, the malt had taken on a muddled toffee/butter/alcohol flavour and the hops had all but dissappeared (assuming they were there in the first place).

Tasted old and stale. Some lemon and toffee, with a sticky palate. Pretty boring and void of flavour otherwise. Not good.

Bottled. Golden coloured, fine pale ale. Big juicy hop flavour and aroma. Breadish characteristics as well. Nice drop.

one of those english ales that is bland with a faint honey texture and seems like it was probably past its use by date

what the hell is this? tastes more like fruit custard than beer. not that i mind custard. but this would be no-frills packet custard or something. it's round, sweet and thick, with a very faint flat malt taste and the same rockmelon ester from the XXXB, but no hops at all. odd.

Bottle. I'm with Nuffield on this. A light coloured and light tasting bit of nothing with some nasty cardboard and soap flavours sticking out. Rubbish.
