Clear copper of color with a beige head. An aroma of malt, toffe and weak prunes. A flavor of malt, bread, toffee and weak chocolate.

Bottle from Morrisons. Copper with a tan head. A sweet malty brew. Biscuit and toasty notes dominate. A nice bit of bitterness. Alright.

On tap, Hare On The Hill, Bristol, April 2014. Sparkling, light orange in color. Lack of anticipated floral notes. Flimsy body, extremely light on the palate. Medium carbonation. No aftertaste.

Flaske delt med Steven, London april-14: nydelig mørk rubinfarge med offwhite skum som forsvinker nokså raskt. Beskjeden aroma kompenseres av en saftig smak dominert av mørke bær. Kort men god ettersmak.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Derry [010414]
Caramel brown, clear, frothy off white head, touch of lacing
Aroma of caramel malts, soft toasted malts, some hedgerow fruit
Taste of caramel malts, fruity caramel, soft toasted malts, slight chocolate, dab of toffee malts, brown bread, fairly bitter hedgerow fruit hops
Palate - Moderate carb, bit over carbonated, light to medium body but a bit thin. Finish - soft bitter hops, soft toffee malts
Overall - Not bad for a supermarket bitter, quite a nice flavour here

leebotton (183) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2014
Grainy, rather boring aroma but a nice dark brown colour with a little white head. Reasonable flavour with roasty hints and some fruitiness followed by a mouth filling zing (or I’d rather say ’zang’) of sweetness. It’s ok but really not very much going on here, as with all bath ales, they can be a ’gateway’ into real decent beer or some might get stuck thinking this is what great beer means...

A dark looking bitter with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma of toasted and smokey malts and dried fruits. These things come across in the flavour along with a mild sweetness. Not much in the way of hops with this one but still it is nicely bitter on the finnish, A nice bitter

Bottle. Clear dark-reddish brown. Has a tasty mix of grain and roasted malts in an interesting fusion. Slightly sweetened nose and taste.

Cask. Dark copper with a thick light tan head. Light malty nose. Pleasant soft malt and spicey bitter. A smokiness. Decent dark ale.

(Bottle) Dark, caramel-coloured beer and there’s a lot of caramel in the aroma too, along with malt. Taste is slightly sweeter than I expected but is characterised by the caramel and malt as well, with a bit of hop in the finish. It’s not quite as tasty as I was expecting but it’s still a very drinkable beer.
