Commercial Description:
Cask (3.9%) & Bottled, filtered, Occasional;
A roasted barley aroma, a deep, dark colour and a smooth-yet-dry taste: all the hallmarks of an exquisite stout. We brew Dark Hare using a blend of dark roasted malts and an old fashioned (and rather famous) English hop called Fuggles. These fine ingredients, together with our brewers’ skill and diligence, have made this an impressive and seriously smooth stout. Made with wheat and barley malt.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Black with red hue, cream head. Lovely richly roasted flavours with fruits, raisins and forest berryies with quite a sweetish note in the body, perhaps more Mild than Stout but loses nothing in the drinking. A touch smoky with a burnt finish, lovely moorish beer for the ABV.

Bottle. Dark brown with a small beige head. Delicious chocolate aroma. The chocolate flavours has a roasted malts edge. A bit thin for all those flavours. I think it is more of a mild than a stout, but still highly recommended.

Dark brown, thick beige head. Fluffy, malty chocolate aroma. Taste butterscotch, good chocolatey stuff with a long, well-balanced finish. Excellent.

500ml bottle (Porvoo Harvest/Dark Beer Festival 2007) Near black, thin tight head. sweet dark berry, cranberry or raisin, aroma. rich burnt malt taste, dry and bitter. slightly watery but that clears the palate for the simple long burnt finish. great for 4%.

Bottle.Dark with a malty background. Slightly roasted but a bit thin. I am having a strange run of beers scarring around 3.4 Pleasant but not outstanding. Weird.
