Dark Side is an impressive and seriously smooth stout, brewed with flair and diligence using a blend of dark roasted malts and an old-fashioned (and rather famous) English hop called Fuggles. Dark Side contains wheat and barley malt.

Bottle. Nose is dark fruits, black current, little licorice. Taste is dark fruit, licorice, hint of coffee. Mouthfeel is too thin. I think one of the better supermarket beers that benefits for being served at a warmer cellar temperature

50cl bottle shared at the 42nd Floor. Many thanks to Ken for this one. It pours a dark brown color with a minimal beige head. Aroma is tangy roasty with light coffee and ashes, melon and lemon peel. Taste is also tangy and medium sweet with light melon, ashes, roasted wood, tangy lemongrass. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice

50cl bottle at home from Gloucester Services Farm Shop. Nose is light smoke, wood, ash. Body is black, head is small, beige, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is mild roasted malt, milk chocolate, ash. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty medium bitter. Medium body, dry texture, average carbonation. Easy dark beer, not bad, I like the ash aroma.

Pours a thin head on a black body. The aroma is lots of licorice with touch of black coffee. Simple but deep. The taste is again lots of licorice, some burnt malt. The texture is smooth. Enjoyable.
