Dark Side is an impressive and seriously smooth stout, brewed with flair and diligence using a blend of dark roasted malts and an old-fashioned (and rather famous) English hop called Fuggles. Dark Side contains wheat and barley malt.

From a bottle. A nice smoky roasted aroma. Taste is unmistakenly a stout but not too powerful although a smokey note stays throughout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl bottle at home from Gloucester Services Farm Shop. Nose is light smoke, wood, ash. Body is black, head is small, beige, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is mild roasted malt, milk chocolate, ash. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty medium bitter. Medium body, dry texture, average carbonation. Easy dark beer, not bad, I like the ash aroma.

Pours a thin head on a black body. The aroma is lots of licorice with touch of black coffee. Simple but deep. The taste is again lots of licorice, some burnt malt. The texture is smooth. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle from Asda. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is largely coffee and roasted malt. Taste is gentle, some sweetness, a little bitterness. Quite watery, particularly for a stout. Drinkable, if unexciting.

Cask@gallows raf16. Black. Dark roasty, slight sweet liclrice on nose. Light, but pretty flavourful for the abv. Bit dry sweet licorice, malty bread. Okish.

Appearance- very dark brown, ruby tinged base, a small, beige, fizzy head. Aroma- chocolate, malts, bread, coffee hints, fudge. Taste- bitter, toasty coffee, slightly nutty, chocolate undertones, hints of caramel and honey sweetness, nice smooth and fluffy mouthfeel. Gets more roasty/toasty as it warms. Good overall.

Black in glass, medium head. Mainly coffee and chocolate in aroma. Some roastiness. Quite high carbonation, foamy in mouth. Light bitterness, medium sweetness. Body too light for a stout imo.
