A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.

Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

Bottle @ DØE. Appearance: pours clear amber with ok soapy white head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, hints of caramel and biscuit and some herbal notes. palette light to medium malty aroma, low carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, balanced by an average bitterness, medium duration and a watery texture. Overall: decent ESB, nothing special

50 cl bottle@home in pilsener glass@approx 6 degrees C (a little too cold) Pours clear dark amber with a light beige head with low retention. Aroma dominated by toasted malt and caramel but also with a hint of citrussy hops. Taste of slightly sweet caramel and toasted malt with very subdued hops till a little bitterness appears in the short aftertaste. A sourness that perhaps should be citrus notes from the hop rather spoils the fun for me as does the somewhat low carbonation and watery mouthfeel. .

I think you’ll either love this or not be so keen. A dark coloured bitter. Plenty of flavour, predominantly treacle/caramel I found, but not too much. A noticable amount of lingering bitterness afterwards. A well made bitter, perhaps not entirely to my personal taste.

500ml. I drank this low boost crap from a St Bernardus goblet to at least make it seem slightly classy , but fuck no , low boost boring brown. earthy hops , soil , spice , caramel malt nose . flavas are chewy , malty , dry’ish ..maybe coffee and apple ester . blah.

Pin bright dark coppery colour. Aroma is malty. I was expecting lots of crystal malt ie caramel but the beer is so refreshing, rather dry but still malty without being cloying at all. Good mouthfeel and body to it too. At Morrison’s for £1.65 so will be buying this many more.

Brown color with a light beige head that quickly diminishes. Aroma has notes of light caramel with toasted malts notes. Flavor is slightly sweet, earthy notes with floral hops hints. Weak final with slightly sweetness.
