Pub (4119), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 3, 2008 Bottled, filtered 500ml from Tesco, Ivybridge, Devon. Chestnut with white head. Hefty, full bodied malty beer, full of burnt sugars, toffee, caramel. Some bitterness, but not big hop motes, this is about darker roasted malt. dj (381), Gloucestershire, England Sep 26, 2008 Bottle, 500ml. A deep copper colour with almost no head. Aroma of biscuity malt. Taste is quite sweet with plenty of toasted malt and hints of honey and citric hops. Slightly bitter. Moderate carbonation. Quite drinkable. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 21, 2008 Many bottles consumed at a friend’s wedding. Deep amber brown beer with a thin white head. Orange peel, leafy tobacco and soft chewy fruity malts. Quite earthy with a lot of medium caramel and some light dustiness. Nice lean bitterness on the back. Not very fruity at all, but there is a lingering deep rich maltiness with a touch of soft toasty sweetness. Really solid brew. larsniclas (3031), Gothenburg, Sweden Sep 10, 2008 Bottled.
