A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.

Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

I liked the aroma, it’s not a style of beer that makes it to NZ that often. Poured well, nicely british bitter dark. Sort of a head and some lacing in the glass. Easy everyman drinking beer that has no rough aged or memorable moments but would sit well for a few in a session I recon.

Bread and pudding beer. Not my thing,. Not sure why this beer is in nearly every supermarket, but if everyone tries it once they’ve sold shit loads I suppose. Rubbish

Dark amber ale, nutty biscuity flavours with orange. Smoky aftertaste not very pleasant. Not really sure about this one, not an ale you want a few of but quite complex and difficult to like

Bottle from Co-op. Pours mid brown with frothy white head. Aroma of biscuits, bread and apples. Taste round with pear and rye. Solid ale, very drinkable but with enough depth of flavour.

Bottle. Amber-brown pour with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, a little metallic, some subtle fruit notes. Taste is caramel, slight citrus and dark fruit. Simple and a little light, but decently balanced.

Pours a dark bitter coloured brown with fizzy tan head. Aroma is caramel and malt, some spice, metallic and slightly earthy. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter, quite thick feeling in the mouth and slightly harsh carbonation. Not bad over all but certainly not my favourite beer from this brewery.

Bottle shared thanks to my sister. Very hazy amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma of toffee, caramel and malt. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sweet malty aroma. Dark amber colour. Well balanced flavour with both bitter and sweet nutty undertones.

Bottle @ DØE. Appearance: pours clear amber with ok soapy white head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, hints of caramel and biscuit and some herbal notes. palette light to medium malty aroma, low carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, balanced by an average bitterness, medium duration and a watery texture. Overall: decent ESB, nothing special

50 cl bottle@home in pilsener glass@approx 6 degrees C (a little too cold) Pours clear dark amber with a light beige head with low retention. Aroma dominated by toasted malt and caramel but also with a hint of citrussy hops. Taste of slightly sweet caramel and toasted malt with very subdued hops till a little bitterness appears in the short aftertaste. A sourness that perhaps should be citrus notes from the hop rather spoils the fun for me as does the somewhat low carbonation and watery mouthfeel. .
