A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.

Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

Bottles from Sainsburys. Light copper colour with an off-white head. Decent carbonation, with mid range head retention, but good lacing. Slight metallic twang, certainly not unpalatable. Well rounded bitterness and a dry aftertaste. Would quite like to find a cask example for comparison. Reasonably nice beer, could easilly drink more than one.

Origin: Bottle. Vessel: Bottle. Supplier: ASDA (Bristol). Citrus hints over the top of the underlying bitterness.

In short: malty ale.
Pours very clear amber with little off white head. Short head retention, some lacing. Malty, liquorice, toffee nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is smooth, caramel, toffe, some roasty, with a dry finish. Enjoyable.

A dark amber coloured beer with a frothy but weak white head. A mild malty aroma, caramel, nutty, spice and a hint of smoke. Dry mouthfeel. The maltiness extends into the taste, dry, nutty, spice, then a smoother, slightly sweeter flavour of caramel and a touch of butterscotch, but in a good way! The finish is dry and malty.

Robust amber coluor, beige head, taste pretty much neutral. Some toffee. Old English type of ale. Low carbonation. Drinkable, not yelling aroma. Light sweet biscuity malts.

Bottle bought in a box with cheese, crackers and chutney by wife. Dark amber beer with small head that reduces to nothing. Aroma of caramel and malts. Taste is malts, caramel and mild hop bitterness. Ok beer.

Clear, dark amber colour with a short lived off-white head. Sweet malt aroma. Light body and a nice degree of carbonation making this drinkable and refreshing. Malt and sweet caramel flavours. Nothing earth shattering but a pleasant pint.

ogivlado (6157) - Zagreb, CROATIA - NOV 3, 2014
Bottled 500ml. -from www.beershop.hr Clear amber coloured, minimal white to off-white head, bready nose. Sweetish malty, caramel, bready and faint fruity with short finish. Pretty boring one without any real British beer character; more like some cheaper East European brew. Pitty.

The colour is a deep copper with a white head. Sweetish roasted malt and caramel aromas. The taste is sweet, dominated by caramel, with a hint of red apples. Very full malt taste and plenty of bitterness from the Maris Otter hops. Very vivid flavours that create a well-balanced and highly drinkable amber ale.
