3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottles from Sainsburys. Light copper colour with an off-white head. Decent carbonation, with mid range head retention, but good lacing.
Slight metallic twang, certainly not unpalatable. Well rounded bitterness and a dry aftertaste. Would quite like to find a cask example for comparison. Reasonably nice beer, could easilly drink more than one.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Egenimportert flaske delt med Ovesen: fint beige skum som lander raskt . Klar, kobberfarge. Lett aroma, lett munnfylde - glir ubesværet over drøvelen, og lett bitterhet i ettersmaken. Myk og avrundet. Grei nok, men ingen personlighet.

Absolutely splendid ESB. I look for I. This style maltiness and slippery mouthfeel. Gem has both in spades. Highly recommended.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear reddish brown shading down to light orange at the bottom of the glass; nice fine upright bubbles, little head. Minerally aroma with hints of brown bread. Taste is of strong minerals and brown bread, too. The mouthfeel is a little bit oily. A very solid ale.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours copper red with a medium thick white head that isn’t long lasting. Roasted malts, almost burnt, caramel, earth, Apple and pass and finally nuts. Flavour is moderately bitter but very short lived. Medium sweetness. Well balanced. Thin to medium bodied with initially good carbonation that fades fast.
