2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Distinct aroma of paint - not nice. Also looks insipid and flat in the glass. Taste is pleasant, sweet, a little bland. Nothing really to recommend it - and it smells horrible.

Bottle at home from waitrose. Colour is rich copper red with a reductant off white head. Aroma is caramel, nutty malt and twigs with a slight apple note. Flavour is rich layered malty goodness. Nutty, caramel and biscuit, hops are mellow and earthy. Palate is very good, medium body that melts on the tongue. Tasty malt forward beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
.5l bottle brought to Belgrade by @BalkanMac, thank you. Another local classic of yours that you’ve enabled me to try. Heavy brown, sweet darker malts. This is a malt forward bitter, with understated sour-caramel characteristics. Warm, sharply caramelized, fine and tasty ale with all sorts of weaknesses.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
An excellent bitter, with the ugliest label on any beer bottle. Must have been inspired by some road-kill.
