Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned at 4.8%. Ratings for the bottled version should be entered under Bath Gem (Bottle)

A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.

Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

Cask at blue blazer edinburgh ... Deep copper ... strong slightly sweet malty nose ... young fresh green wood ... nice toffee fruits ... little sweet hoppyness... good mouth feel.

had this brew at the Bathampton pub on the riverside of the Avon in England (see: http://www.thebathamptonmill.co.uk/), as it was the most local on offer ... not a classic ale at all, being rather dry and smoky in the palate ... a very interesting brew, which is rather suited to accompany a meal than be enjoyed on it’s own ...

Cask at GBBF 2007. A brownish beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as light notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Brown. Sweet bready malts and light toastiness. Pleasant hop flavours but very little bitterrrness. Not a patch on the bottled version but perhaps not in perfect condition.
