Cask Conditioned at J.D. Wetherspoon - The Pommeler´s Rest, London
Hazy golden color, frothy head. It has some malt aroma, and good malt flavor, good body strength. The hop is a bit citrusy, more evident in the aroma. It has a balanced final, with sweetish toffee and bold bitterness.

rauchbier (3203) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2009
Bottle, from Sainsburys Hessle. Gold, thin but lasting white head and good condition. Initially sweet and honeyed in the nose with caramel and vanilla notes developing and a suggestion of buttery toffee, quite full bodied in the mouth, the sweetness briefly shows itself with more toffee and honey before a solid hop bitterness takes over with some earthy floral notes, staying with you into the finish, dissipating with time to let the toffee notes have a final flourish.

bhensonb (7577) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 17, 2011
Bottle from Waitrose. Pours golden amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is floral over some sort of deeper spicy? thing. Flavor is malty and hinting oak astringency. It’s nicely bitter. Gets quite floral as things come along. Very flavorul for a "light" ale.

Bottled. A clear golden beer with no head. The aroma has some sticky citrus notes. Same in the mouth. Bitter and lacking depth. Ordinary but acceptable.
