Cask conditioned handpump Cordwainer Northampton 08/11/ A hefeweizenly hazy yellow coloured beer with a thin white head and lots of lace. Quite authentic bubblegum and clove notes. Good flavours but the body is a bit thin. A pretty decent effort.

Oct/Nov 2012. Brighton, JDW. Band aid flavours big time, over-riding all else. Some watery citric fruit emerges. Some dirty water. Not very tasty, but drinkable.

Leighton (11853) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2013
Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, white foam head. Good hefeweizen nose, plenty of dough and yeast. Medium sweet flavor with more good dough, yeast, mild fruits. Good balance. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dries out slightly in the finish; a nice British touch on the hefe style. Nice beer overall. Stays pretty true to the style and does so with some success.

Liberty Bounds, Tower Hill 3 Nov 12. JDW festivaløl. Aprikosfarget. Uklar. Nesten ikke skum. Svak fruktaroma. Smaken sitrus. Søt. Litt tørr bitterhet etter hvert.

True hefeweizen aroma and taste. The texture is flat unlike the carbonated versions that dominate this style.

Festival ale, half pint at JDWs Liberty Bounds. Apricot coloured body with a solid wheat haze. Smell of ripe banana. Sweet ripe banana in flavour, too. Mid-sweet, dry fruity end. Rather thin bodied. Drinkable, however, way too sweet (London, 03.11.2012).

Cask @ JDW Elgin, 251112
Golden amber, very slight haze, dense thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - soft cloves, light banana, soft cereals, spicy hops
Taste - Wheat, soft yeast, soft pale fruity malts, touch of floral fruity esters, gentle flavoured beer, a bit too subtle but there’s some complexity
Palate - soft carb, medium body, bit creamy texture. Finish - soft cereals, bit dry, cereal malts, fairly rapid finish
Overall - This gets better with the drinking - better than most attempts at Hefeweizen by UK brewers I’ve tried
