A great golden beer with a fresh citrus, hoppy aroma. This wonderful wholesome organic ale has a dry and bitter finish which brings you right back to earth.

Clear gold beer. Light semi dry palate. Very light even malt base with a tiny bit of caramel. The hops are also light and impart dashes of orange and lemon and bitterness. Semi dry finish. Touch of minerals.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 8 Jul 09, drank on sunny Sunday afternoon in April 09. Poured into a pint vase shaped glass. ’Our golden organic pale ale’ is what is written on the front label and that is what was in my glass, a cloudy pale, golden ale. A small white head sat on top, but legged it to a wisp very soon. Aroma was citrus fruits and hops, very pleasant. Dry, bitter and refreshing with the hops coming to the fore over the citrus notes found in the smell. No real depth to the beer, although it does have a presence, the flavours stay longer than the head did and grapefruit/lemon citrus tang is very evident as you sip the beer. Enjoyable and different to other Bath Ales I’ve had, liked them all.

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting, London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white foam head. Great looks. Sugary straw nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, some hay and straw, faint grass, dough. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, sweet and doughy, some hay bitterness, moderate sweetness, light grass and light grain. Nice beer.

Cool not cold back in August 2011.
From the bottle. Pour is bright; a medium gold and lager like for carbonation with a soppy, flaccid white crown that manages good legs. Tinny, floral and piney nose with a sulphury, buttery edge that taints it but doesn’t add to the flavour. Dull mouthfeel but oddly pulls off something unbeknown. Light, powdery, grainy and very piney to the point of being reminiscent too sucking on toothpicks. Grassy, herbal hops dominate otherwise, dry the palate out, add emphasis to the drawing finish. The pine is all I got in the aftertaste. Some straw comes through, maybe a little citrus, but it’s straight ball with this one yet it works. I actually managed a few pints, running out was the hardest thing, could go more! (50cL, BB 04/09/11, Tesco Exmouth, Devon)

Light, slightly sweet smell. Crisp, hoppy taste with a malty finish. Somewhere between an IPA and a bitter... makes a nice change from generic hop-overload IPAs. Will be keeping a few of these around in my collection at any one time.

A rating from an old notebook. Bottle. Hazy gold with a tiny white head. A hoppy beer with a surprisingly bitter finish. Moreish.

Bottle. The aroma is lovely and spicy. A nice fresh sweet noble hop character and some pale malt. A bit of light fruit sweetness. A bit of crackery character. Nice stuff.

Gyllenne färg med kritvitt skum. Ganska stram med humletoner åt citrushållet och lite smörkola i smaken.
