Bathams Mild is another one of my favourites. The Plough at Shenstone is the best place to get a fabulous pint of mild. Although not as strong as the bitter the mild is still a fantastic drink.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2007. Ruby colour with bubbly beige head. Odd smokey aroma. Some yeast. Has some very light caramel malt. It is extremely mild, but not poor because of that. Good example of the style. Malts are decent.

Cask (gravity) GBBF2003. Ruby red brown, low beige head, good fine condition. Slight sulphur start, then toffee and caramel in the nose. Sweet in the mouth with lots of fruit and burnt toffee and a tongue tingling fine condition. Smooth long finish with more fruitiness and hints of brown sugar.

Hand pulled at the Britannia, Gornal. Copper/ruby colour. Proper, soft nutty flavour. Nutella, choc brownie. Soft, soft. Smooth genuine Mild, served in sensational condition.

Mid brown coloured with some fruitiness. Slight dryness in the full malt finish.

Handpulled cask at the Vine (Bull and Bladder),Briery Hill and several other Bathams tied houses over the years. Red/brown with an off white head. Smooth malty base with a touch of caramel. Mild hoppy finish. Typical West Midlands mild.

Draught at The Vine, Bull & Bladder (Brewery Tap), Brierly Hill. Dark brown with thin beige head. One of the very best examples of West Midlands Mild left, dark roasted malt almost nutty, with overlying sweet malts and fruit. A refreshing treat.

Cask, Chelmsford Beer Festival 2010. Small head, murky body, hay caramel and bread. Flowers and lime in the hops. Toffee and cinamen. Oily texture. Short finish. Average mild.
