Bottle, 4.5%. Almost clear yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is bready with a little plastic and yeasty fruitiness.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and almost golden orange with a small white head. Mild citrusy aroma with a light hops note coming through. Mild citrusy flavoured with a light sweetness. Ends milds fruity and subdued bitter.

Clear medium to dark yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, toasted, cardboard, paper. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [260908]

12 oz bottle. Pours very pale straw yellow, with aroma of sweet malt. Flavor is syrupy sweet malt, tinge of hop. Light bodied. Sweet finish.

Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a pale golden yellow color. Aromas of light hops and malt. Flavor is malt and mild hops, more malty at the start and finishes with dry hop.

Bottled@SBWF2008. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, malts and some quit sweet vegetably notes. Flavour is much the same, with some hoppyness. Quite clean for being African.

This is another nice, basic Ethiopian lager, although I find it more bland and less enjoyable than, say, Harar or Meta. It is golden straw colour with a fairly big, creamy, white head that slowly shrinks to a permanent thin top and leaves a little weak lace. The aroma is basically a decent lager aroma with light grain/bread and grapes. The taste is similar with some light bread and grain, plus a light grape juice and cheap wine element, hay, and mineral plus a faint grassy bitterness to add to the predominant sweetness. It’s light and uninteresting but pretty drinkable and pleasant.

Golden body with a soft sparkle; not much head. Plasticy, painty phenols mix with husky malts in an aroma that reminds me of Soviet-era factories lurching along in the Stans forty years beyond obsolescence. There’s some faint hop on the palate to add colour to the fairly lifeless bready malts, overt minerals and lingering phenols. And the poor rastaman who journeys all the way to Zion to find them drinking "batty" beer...
