4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 HopsIPAndDrunk (43) - Oklahoma, USA - MAR 17, 2012Pours (body appears) used-motor oil black with a light tan head that dissipates quickly to a thin surface film-layer. Aroma is sweet fruit and nutty notes. Strong alcohol presence. No light can be seen through this one... Even when held up to a light. Now that is a dark beer!! Heavy-sweet and fruity taste that strongly resembles Russian imperial stouts. Full-bodied and robust with a thick texture. Relatively flat carbonation with a long, lingering finish. Acidic with coffee in the nose. I’m very impressed with this company.

12 oz bottle given to me by Dansting. The pour is a lightly hazed brown black, with a touch of ruby. There are only a few thin khaki bubbles on the pour, and the cap popped off with very little pressure. The aroma is light char, toasted malt, and a soft vanilla sweetness. The taste is big vanilla cream sweet, toasted coconut and the lightly roasted toasted malt. The palate is light to medium bodied, very low carbonation level, in fact almost flat, and a sweet coconut finish. This may not have been a totally good seal. Cheers for giving me this one Dan.

Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma chocolate, vanilla, and coconut. Taste is paint thinner, chocolate and coconut. I wanted to like this but it was awful.

Bottle. Chocolate, vanilla, coconut, coffee aroma. Black brown with a giant tan head. Dark roasted coffee malt, chocolate, vanilla, and coconut flavor with a spicy bitter finish. Medium body, lively carbonation. Far too carbonated for the style.

12 oz bottle - thanks Bottoms Up Liquor in Shawnee OK. poured into standard r.t. pint at about 50 deg. Color is opaque black with med tan head - was challenging to control head during pour. Surprisingly not overly sweet, but def full bodied and creamy. Vanilla is more noticeable than coconut flavors until the finish. Definite presence of toasted malts may make the coconut a little hard to perceive at first. Lively carbonation on the palate, sweet finish with very subtle, lightly bitter hops note. Has almost a home brewed vibe (mean that in the best way possible) Heavy, fat lace in the glass. Definitely unique. To pair with a toasted coconut dessert would likely yield favorable results
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 csaso (934) - Missouri, USA - OCT 13, 2011
Bottle - almost no head at all very dark brown/black color, coffee aroma, very flat texture, lots of coffee, a little vanilla, can’t say I taste any coconut at all. As a big fan of coconut. Just not a fan of coffee flavored beer - was hoping the coconut would overpower the coffee, no such luck.

Pours inky brown with a thin tan head. Nose is bitter vanilla, chalk, malt. Flavor is mostly sweet malt and vanilla at the front, with coconut toward the middle and a pleasing bitterness. Mouthfeel is odd - starts a little watery but when the coconut hits there is an oily feel. Slight coconut aftertaste.

bottle... dark brown but very clear in the light, a big light tan head but the bubbles are big and watery... nice sweet whopper malt at first, a bit chocolate, coconut, and coffee, light, ok overall but a touch generic, after awhile reminds me a roasted almond joy, I’m intrigued... the taste is a mess, burnt espresso, over carbonated, light coconut with a metallic finish... ok start but this is tough to drink

These guys basically talked us into trying their beers at GABF 2010. I was walking by and they told me to try their Coconut Cream Stout. I told them I hated Coconut but they persisted. Ok. Pours a dark color nearing black. Aroma of sweet coconut, chocolate, mild roast. Flavor is sweet, milky, mild coconut with a rush of roast stout. Some chocolate, some coffee and tobacco. Pretty nice.
