COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delicious Beer combines enormous amounts of plump Two Row Barley, Dark Roasted Malts and Toasted Coconut. The result is a Rich Decadent Stout loaded with hints of Chocolate, Sweet Malt and Espresso. Flaked Oats, Vanilla and Delicious Coconut round off this creamy and full bodied Beer. We enjoy it any time, but this Beer is an occasion all its own.

Dark chocolate pour, light head and lace. Coffee, mocha aroma. Chocolatey coffee flavor, a hint of sweet coconut in there, also a hint of mint. Nice carb, thick, but a tart sour somewhat artificial flavor. A little disappointing, I was really hoping for more coconut.

Pours (body appears) used-motor oil black with a light tan head that dissipates quickly to a thin surface film-layer. Aroma is sweet fruit and nutty notes. Strong alcohol presence. No light can be seen through this one... Even when held up to a light. Now that is a dark beer!! Heavy-sweet and fruity taste that strongly resembles Russian imperial stouts. Full-bodied and robust with a thick texture. Relatively flat carbonation with a long, lingering finish. Acidic with coffee in the nose. I’m very impressed with this company.

Bottle - almost no head at all very dark brown/black color, coffee aroma, very flat texture, lots of coffee, a little vanilla, can’t say I taste any coconut at all. As a big fan of coconut. Just not a fan of coffee flavored beer - was hoping the coconut would overpower the coffee, no such luck.

Pours inky brown with a thin tan head. Nose is bitter vanilla, chalk, malt. Flavor is mostly sweet malt and vanilla at the front, with coconut toward the middle and a pleasing bitterness. Mouthfeel is odd - starts a little watery but when the coconut hits there is an oily feel. Slight coconut aftertaste.

bottle... dark brown but very clear in the light, a big light tan head but the bubbles are big and watery... nice sweet whopper malt at first, a bit chocolate, coconut, and coffee, light, ok overall but a touch generic, after awhile reminds me a roasted almond joy, I’m intrigued... the taste is a mess, burnt espresso, over carbonated, light coconut with a metallic finish... ok start but this is tough to drink

These guys basically talked us into trying their beers at GABF 2010. I was walking by and they told me to try their Coconut Cream Stout. I told them I hated Coconut but they persisted. Ok. Pours a dark color nearing black. Aroma of sweet coconut, chocolate, mild roast. Flavor is sweet, milky, mild coconut with a rush of roast stout. Some chocolate, some coffee and tobacco. Pretty nice.

Crushed at GABF ’10. Pretty tasty. I always compare coconut beers, no matter the style, to Maui’s porter, and this one isn’t quite up to that standard. Still has a very pleasant coconut flavor and aroma.

12oz bottle brought back from OK by a friend. Poured into a large wine glass. Bottom of bottle has sediment indicating bottle conditioning. The small head fades quickly. The black body allows for visibility of carbonation close to the surface of the glass. Aroma is very mineral and muted at first. As it warms I get something that may resemble coconut but it may just be something else in the cream stout. Flavor is sweet, as it should be for the style. A bit of that mineral character break through as well. The mineral character is mimicked in the mouthfeel. As it goes down the mineral flavor and mouthfeel offset the sweetness, which allows for enjoyment of the sweet character without the downside. Its good stuff, to style, easy drinking but nothing special. Live rating on the phone.
