2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at home - thanks to cgarvieuk for this one. Golden yellow with a thin white head. Nose is typically uninspiring, sweet lagery nose slight citrus. Mouth is quite malty but at the same time quite crisp and refreshing, slightly caramel, some slight herbal tones. Healthy bitterness on the back, but drifts off quickly. Far better than I expected, but still...

draught at Luxemburg railway station. Fairly uninspiring, nothing outstanding. sampled at 6am which doesn’t help, but I just struggled to get any real flavour, though there was a slightly dry hop finish

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Hilton Hotel, Luxembourg: not sure if this is the Battin I had or not. Poured deep golden yellow with a thick off white head. Mild hop aroma and slightly herbal. Kind of watery flavor with a touch of apple and some hops. The finish takes a second to register after the swallow and finishes bitter. Decent.

Gylden øl, som erbedre end den typiske danske pilsner.
Noget mere humlet en den danske, og ikke så skarp.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2007 Bottled. Clear deep golden, rich creamy head. Mild and rather malty with fairly soft mouthfeel and notes of toffee. Sweet and low on hops, very low bitterness. Exceeding my expectations.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Light floral/herbal aroma, some malts. Light hazy, golden/amber color, off-white head, good lace. Light sweet, malty, light bitter, floral. It was 18 months past it best before date but still very nice and even some port flavors where there. I’ll rerate it with a fresh one soon.
