Battin Gambrinus is far the best luxemburgish beer, but only Gambrinus because Battin Frutté, Extra or Edelpils are not that good.

50cl can from roadside gas station in Lux. Malty aroma, richer than expected from a pale lager. Nice color and lacy stickiness. Taste is sweet and sharp with nice bitterness on the tongue, A pleasant surprise from Luxembourg.

Test vom 2.3.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,10,10,8,10 - 10,10

Hopfig-getreidiger Geruch. Leicht bitter-hopfiger Antrunk. Getreidige Mitte. Schließlich süßlich-feinherb abebbend. Angenehm sanftes Bier. Dankeschön an Grima!

Test vom 11.5.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,12,11,10,7,11 - 10,70

Golden color, frothy head. Aroma from aroma hop with malt notes, pleasant spicy taste with hop notes and a quite bitter aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2006 0.5 L bottle, ’bbe’ June 06. Clear amber, a scarce number of large bubbles, frothy white head that doesn’t hold long. Hop aroma: cheesy, summer meadow, a bit metallic. Taste: dry, a lot of hop character - grapefruit, tea, quite bitter aftertaste. Medium body.

I wonder how much of beer reviewing is context - I had this beer on draft at a great cafe in a country town in Luxembourg, and I thought it was pretty good. Reminded me of a Pilsner Urquell imitator, and a decent one at that. It offered a rich gold color and a thick fluffy white head with good staying power. It was the first beer that was clear and had a brilliant body color that I had in Belgium. Tasted a lot like Pilsner Urquel to me - lots of Saaz-hop flavor. I had two with lunch, and they hit the spot. I would recommend this beer. I had it on draft in Redange, Luxembourg.

At the kaktus in Echternach Luxemburg, golden, thin head, hoppy with a citrus..most lemon aroma, bitter finish, no way a pale lager. Nice special one.

A plae golden colour with a small fizzy head. Smells very pilzener like saaz hops. Quite thin in mouthfeel but relatively good carbonation. Definetley not offensive
