Strong Ale - A real block-buster of a beer, Hugely complex taste and lots of it. Lots of everything and then some...!

Cask @ O’Connel’s, Tampere.
Rated on 20110617.
Pours copper color with no head. Aroma of strong alcohol, nothing more. Flavor is the same with some malty notes. Very distinct lactic acids rule all the way. I got the last drops from the cask, clearly not at it’s best. The strong alcohol on the nose made me think for a brief moment about tasting the beer at all. Left unfinished.

Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Clear gold - amber beer. Residual white bubbles for a head. Alcohol drying palate. Ok dried fruit hops. Dry finish. Unsubtle alcohol and lacks body and richness.

Cask (CWAF2012)
Dull orange to gold, small head. Good tasty English hops. Full smooth palate, carbonation low, getting a bit flat. Sweetish malts fill the mouth, some mushrooms coming in later. Was a little tired, but still pretty drinkable.

laiti (1669) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2011
Cask @ O’Connell’s Irish Pub, Tampere. Rated on 10.06.2011
Aroma is sweet with caramel and hints of alcohol. Flavour has caramel, alcohol and sweet malt. The alcohol stings at first, then creates a good body for the beer and warms at the finish. Too much alcohol here, but this is somehow interesting brew anyway.

Cask Stillage at Edgeley Park, Stockport 03/06/2011 (As Four Kings Ale) Fruity aroma. Golden coloured a little hazy in appearance and strong in alcohol. Fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a warming malt finish.

Cask @ Pullman Bar, Helsinki 3.6.2011. Poured amber color with no head. Leather, malt and alcohol in aroma. Sticky. Lots of alcohol in flavor, fruity, malty and slightly sweet. Dry finish. Way too much alcohol in this otherwise quite interesting brew.

Cask conditioned at The Resoration Inn, Cheltenham. Murky gold with no head. Heavily scented strongly alcoholic beer, peachy, perfumed with a cheesy background. Takes some drinking.

Cask (handpump) at the Darlington Spring Thing Beer Festival. ABV is 7.2%. Amber colour, moderate head. Fairly nice aroma, some fruit and malts. The flavour has also fruit and malts, but is not too sweet. Decent hops in the finish.
