2.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 EdKing (772) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2011 Cask at Lewes Beer & Cider Fest 2011. Stunning aroma of burnt toffee sets such a high standard on this one, but unfortunately the taste is burnt charcoal and toffee and not very pleasant. Also body is quite watery and the finish is very dry and chewy.

Cask conditioned at The Olde Reinedeer, Banbury. Gold with slight head. Thin with a slight fruity twang, just a tad on the sourish side, a slightly sharp tinny flavour. Not really to my taste.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Doppelganger (1383) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Nice copper orange, off-white skim of fine head. Not a lot of aroma. What there is reminds me of a mash that has been sitting a day or two after brewing. Malt, husk, and lactic sourness settling in. An interesting smell, but sort of science-interesting rather than I-want-my-beer-to-smell-like-this interesting. Light tart malt flavor. Odd but still oddly refreshing. A bit of a trainwreck over all, but in spite of that was fairly drinkable.
