3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask@The Criterion, Leicester. Amber beer with a strongish head. The aroma is dry and fruity, and the flavour is fruity with some bitter dryness. Overall a good drinkable beer.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask conditioned handpump Lamplighter Northampton. A hazy amber coloured beer. Sweet but with on the turn acidity. Fruity notes thorugh the problems. The haze suggests yeast slurry bottom of the barrel, but I’ve had enough poor beers from Tunnel to know that that might not be the only reason for the off flavours.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Orange amber, hazy with a lot of sediment. Aroma is not appealing: raw chestnut and a curious vegetal whiff of tomato. Taste is the usual Tunnel gluey sourness rather overwhelming sweet, nutty malt and mid bitterness.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet fruity combined with a weird acidity. The flavor is acidic with strong notes of fruit - peaches and oranges, leading to a dry acidic finish. Thanks fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

Bottle. This is one of the reasons why people drink bottles of cider. Orange with the sediment at the bottom of the bottle which was a bit off putting.Acidic and vinegary it also boasts the :" CAMRA says this is real ale"-perhaps CAMRA should check the quality before applying the logo. Bought at the Royal Show 2008.Quite expensive although virtually any price would have been robbery.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: APR 17, 2008 As ’Battlefield LBC...’, Covfest ’08. Honey amber. Fart-sodden aroma with egg and sulphur. Odd root vegetable sweetness, caramel, light woody touches, apologetic chocolate. Lacking very much of anything. Overheard some poor soul saying it was the best pint they’d had all year. Must have been the first. Thin, bland, forgettable.
