33 cl bottle @ Timo A, BBE 22.12.2012
Aroma is very sweet with syrup, raisins and some nuts. Feels like a belgian brown. Flavour is rather nutty and malty with some raisins and bread. A slight sting of alcohol on some sips. Too sticky and sweet, but not bad anyway.

33cl bottle courtesy of Beerhunter111. Pours a deep dark amber with cream head, receding. Nice autumnal caramel malt aroma, taste of moderately sweet caramel, butterscotch, earthy malts, autumn leaves.. quite sticky and malty but not in a bad way. Quite liked this bock.

Ordentlicher Bock, der jedoch keine Überraschungen bringt. Malzig, mit etwas Alkohol und ein paar Nüssen. Unspektakulär, dafür gute Wertarbeit und ebenso trinkbar.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark brown colour with low head and smooth body. Nice aroma of roasted barley and malt. Taste of dark grains, mild malt, flowers, woods, caramel and dark berries. Easy and nice to drink, smooth Bock with no highs or deeps.

Erzengel (2607) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - NOV 26, 2013
a year over best before date. a Bit cloudy in the glass, sweet in the nose. The beer starts quite sweet, caramel, but a bit flat. The mainpart is a bit bitter, caramel, but the body is too weak. The aftertaste is long, caramel, hops, not too sweet and nicely balanced with the bitterness. --> Probably too old. --> 10/12/9/10

It’s beautiful, hazy orange-red-brown with a small head. The aroma has notes of nuts, roasted malt, cellar, burnt sugar, fruit and light cheese. The sweet flavor has notes just like the aroma with a touch of alcohol towards the fairly dry finish.

Dark red, lovely. Aroma of fruit and berries. Malty, heavy without getting out of hand. Prunes, raspberries. A hint of wood, dryness in the finish. In the top tier of Dunkler Bocks.

Grima (2097) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 6, 2013
The beer in the glass is gorgeous ruby red with a flat head. It smells malty, roasty, dark fruits and licorice. Starts with lots of dark fruit, roasted malts, some chocolate and licorice. In the background, a subtle alcohol note is noticeable. The middle part is somewhat alcoholic, fruity and very roasty with lots of dark malts. The beer goes into a roasty, malty, slightly alcoholic and dark-malty, fruity finish!
