2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
The head is ok, the body light and clear. It smells malty, hoppy, a bit metal. The taste is malty, bitter, flowery, fruity, aromatic. A bit boring.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Super Zabka, Handsworth. This is surely a Helles; for it has all of the prevalent bready sweetness. Nice unfiltered flavour, doesn’t suffer from warmth. Quite drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Deep gold/light amber color, hazy. Sweet corn aroma, slightly overwhelming. Taste is also sweet, though a bit dry. Oily texture. Low carbonation. Enjoyable at low temperatures and with some salty snacks.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I drove into Bauska a friday afternoon, and went into Rimi Hypermarket, where I found this beer (among several others). Bauska is a nice little city in southern Latvia, only 20 kms from Lithuania. The stay at the ABC Hotel was comfortable.
Bauskas Alus Gaisais 4,8% pours an offwhite head on the golden yellow body.
Possible to make it tall for some seconds, but it diminishes without much patterns.
Scents of sweet malts, faint hops, hints of honey.
Taste; grains, hops, sweet malts, and some seconds I wonder if it is a bit perfumed.
Mouthfeel, there is some bitterness in a gentle way into this beer.
End; grains, hops, these distinct bitterness signals, and maybe something that makes me think of almonds dipped into honey and then roasted.
Overall this beer is worth being made. The city Bauska should be proud of its brewery and the newly renovated castle, Bauskas Pils.

Plastic bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Herbal aroma with little fruity tones. Taste was medium hoppy, light bready, full. Medium dry aftertaste.

Good beer. Color is like amber. Flavor is malty, but aftertaste in bitter.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Thanks to Elisabeth and Stefan for sharing a 500ml bottle. Slightly unclear golden body. Tight, near-white head with satisfying retention. Sweet and dry pale malts to the nose. Taste of sweet corn, almond and sweet, bland fruits. Sweet ending. Watered and floury. Just about drinkable (session in Tromsř, 16.04.2013).

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled, 500ml from Grosik European Supermarket, Banbury. Amber with scummy head. This tasted a little strange, sweet maltiness but with an odd vegetable note, I like Maeib’s description below. Thin, boiled notes. I didn’t really like this too much.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Although the packaging of this beer doesn’t say anything about it to be unfiltered, it was very cloudy. Head lasted quite a long time, but the sparkle is very weak (only a few small strips). The aroma that is not intense, can’t make you interested. The taste is sweet, as if there is a wheat malt contained. But it isn’t writen on the label either. This beer is suitable perhaps only as an example of what’s brewed in the world, but as a common beverage isn’t interesting.
