2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2014 50cl from bottle at Tornis Taverna in Bauska, Latvia. Pours clear deep golden with a small, white head. Mild grainy aroma with some fruity notes. Moderate to medium sweet and not much flavour. Pretty soft carbonation too. Drinkable on a hot day like today, but there are certainly better alternatives.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
1/2L brown bottle 5.2%abv, white head, spots as lacings, about clear golden beer with particles.
Sweet scents, honey malts, flowerful meadow.
Taste is also honey malts, caramel, bisquit, notes of fruit compote, tiny hints of butter and walnut.
Ok body, light, modest carbonation. Sweet finish where the honey still is present.
Overall I thought this might be some latvian heller bock, but it was a landbier, on the honey side.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a 500ml bottle, thanks to djoeye for sharing. Near-clear golden body. Tiny white head, spotty lacing. Mild aroma of pale malts and honey sweetness. Sweet flavours of honey with a biscuit treat. Mid-sweet malty ending. Medium bodied. Quite possible to drink without further comments (Tromsø 26.03.2014).

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Fashionable non-filtered beer again. There are better non-filtered ones in Baltic market. That beer had some bad metallic side taste. Hazy yellow color, grainy aroma with floral tones. Hops, malts in flavor.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
(Bottled spring/summer of 2012, expiry date december 2012)
Amber / bronze colour, slightly hazy from deposits (it’s unfiltered, mind you).
Aroma: Smells sweet of freshly cooked corn-on-the-cob with butter and toast (not unlike over oaked chardonnay wines).
Taste and palate: Less interesting then the nose. Carbonization somewhat reduced, round, slightly sweet mouthfeel, some light hops bitterness and some acidity. It’s 5,2% alcohol shines through somewhat (around 4,5 would have suited this beer better, but then that goes for many Latvian beers...)
Overall: Nice colour, interesting if a bit unusual nose, but tastewise somewhat less exiting. There seem to be an ambition behind making this beer but in lack of direction.
Age (1-1,5 year) has apparently not fared well with this beer but Latvia can anyway do better than this. Both Cēsis and Valmiermuiža deliver better versions of "Nefiltrēts".

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
A bit more hoppy/lively than the average, with some slightly rusty notes in the malt--would have pegged this for a PL, actually. Somewhat drinkable and slightly interesting but not pleasant, and not again!

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
500ml bottle. Hazy amber color. Small head. Tin tomatoes, grainy, sweet notes in aroma. Metallic, iron, grainy flavor. It’s not horror, but I don’t want to drink it again.

1.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
500ml bottle (Rimi, Riga)
Fairly wholesome, almost yeasty, lager aroma. Very Latvian. Pretty messed up in the mouth, vegetables, and iron. Nasty tinned veg. Full of brewing flaws. Tinned veg, tinned veg, tinned veg, and more tinned veg. Ugh.
