Rich, sweet, dark brown, strong head, would go well with dessert or as an apatief. Strong initial warming flavours of caramel are cooled down by the refreshing beer, very little hop bitterness on the finish leaves the drinker wanting another sip straight away for the initial malt flavour. My first Schwarz for a long time so may be drinking through rosé tinted glasses. Bottle kindly donated from Mediocre Beer Adventures' Dan Brown. Carl Durose

Copper brown with thin light beige head, that soon disappears leaving no laces. Aroma.. quite intense sweet roasted malts, bread Taste is quite interesting sweet (bit too much) with pleasant hoppy bitter tones. Overall.. drinkable beer from time to time, thou something lacks to buy it in regular terms.

Organic dark beer. Sweet classic dark mild ale. The taste is much lighter than the 5.5 which is given in degrees. I would highly recommend

Bottled 31/08/12. An almost black coloured beer with no head. Pretty damn sweet. Lots of fruit in the nose with tons of caramel in the mouth. Bready yeasty notes too. A little fossil fuel. Oversweet and fruity and tasting stronger than it is. Not a style of beer I dislike.

Glass bottle. Aroma weak, but a little yeast is felt. Carbonation is quite lively, taste is weak, but u can feel that dunkel taste (not a lover). Some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Baltic Branch Dover. Clear brown, medium head. Roasty aroma. Medium-bodied with lots of malt and an incredibly delicious roasted malt character. Roasted malt dominates, there are also hints of dark chocolate and nuts. Delicious stuff!

DanielBrown (3717) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2012
Bottle from Wisla, Granby St, Leicester. Pours a sandy brown, with fading froth top. Smells sweetly malty. Not massively tasty. Toffee, breakfast cereal, some nuttiness, perhaps a smidge of spanner. Average verging on poor. Lacks even the burn to go with it’s strength.
