Bottle. Wow, I never thought a schwarzbier could have so much depth. Chocolate pralines, cherry liqueur and a Schwarzberger Kirschtorte all in one. The medium body perfectly displays a combination of chocolate and dark fruit, while the thickish consistency caresses the palate in a velvet-like manner. It reminded me a lot of a classy, lower ABV baltic porter.

Brown/black pour. Aroma of watered down roasted malts, coffee, some smoke. Taste is light sweetness with a decent hop bite and some roast. Ok.

Kristall-König (2191) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2011
Anjenehm.

pivnizub (8745) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 18, 2010
Bottle: Very deep amber coloured, presumably clear, stable medium-sized off-white head; sweetish-caramelly nose with a subtle fruity (dried black berries) background; moderate - mainly - sweetish flavour with a light bitterness, light to medium bodied; lingering sweet-bitter finish. Tastes like a good, slightly diluted Dunkler Bock.....

MoritzF (8402) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 17, 2010
(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy layer. Sweetish roast-malty, bready and crusty aroma with caramel, coffee and a whiff of vanilla. Roast-bitter and moderately sweet flavour, almost medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty malt-character with notes of bread crusts, caramel and shy hints of coffee and subtle hints of dried fruits; roasty bitter and sweet finish with a moderate length. 17.III.10

Bottled@Björntasting. Very deep amber, near black, colour with small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, mild ashes and some slight notes of sugar. Flavour is ashy, burnt sugary, fruity as well as roasted malty. A bit thin on the palate, otherwise rather nice.

Bottled. Near black, beige head. Chocolate aroma. Sweet and soft, medium bodied, nicely rounded. Caramel and chocolate combine to a nice mud cake flavour. Low bitterness. Good!

The bottle looks very good, the beer in the glass also, deep black, nice head. Starts soft malty, not too roasty, fruity like plum. Fine notes of liquorice, modest sweet, very well balanced. Warming finish. Didn’t have such a good schwarzbier for a long time.
