Can: A medium to bigger airy and lively head. Disappears normally but leaves bit by bit bigger airy bubbly head that in it’s time changes into some kind of airy bubble sticky lacing and then it disappears completely. The color of this beer is clear orange. Smell malts, barleys, fruit, orange, some lemon, metal, some summer flowers, hops and orange sweets. Taste is pretty fruity and soft sweet malted barley with a warm touch. I was expecting worse. Taste fruits like orange, orange peel, older peach, some light lemon, some malts, barleys and hay, like in the smell: summer flowers, herbs, floral, hint of grass, hops, light soapy, low to medium (growing) bitter and hints of sweets and caramel. Herby soapy sweet flowery aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, Light tingly/spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a texture between watery and creamy. Wouldn’t say it is bad but not good either. Could drink this one (bit harsh though) but absolutely not all night long. Bit sweet, bit out of tone, bit unbalanced, not my thing, but not as bad as I expected.

6.5% gold colour with a thin head, malt aroma and very, very sweet taste, far too sweet.

Can 50 cl from Leclerc - Antibes (F). Beer color of toffy, white fleeting foam. Malted scents, floral, caramel. The taste is very sweet, malt-toffy, some notes of flower, grassy bitter. mellow beer but heavy, sweet disgusting and excessive. Unpleasant and not harmonious. Short finale with bitter of almond and sticky toffy.

Can at the Cape Town Festival of Beer 2011. A clear golden colour with a small, good lacing, white head. The aroma is light malty and heavy fruity. The taste is medium to heavy sweet. A medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation and a medium long duration. I miss some bitterness in it to make it more balanced.

50cl can. Amber with off-white head, medium persistence. Aroma is slightly toasted malts, caramel, sweet. Flavour is sweet, caramel, brown sugar with some chemical hints and with a sweet medium long final. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium high.

Super sweet and fruity. Not as bad as an Amerian alt liquor perhaps but still crappy. The name of the beer is misleading because it isn’t 8.6% alc.

I actually quite like this. Yes it’s sweet, but for this kind of cheap beer there’s a decent hop nose, albeit verging on the slightly tinny. Compared to the standard 8.6 blond, it’s got an actual profile. It’s aiming to be the flavoursome brother of the cheap mass produced dutch beer and given those aims, I think it succeeds magnificently. Just don’t expect subtlety or refinement.
