Dredd (484), Ormond, Australia Jul 7, 2009 Was expecting a lot less than what this offered. This has a sweet aroma of caramel and pours a dark copper orange hue. Given the alcohol on this I expected a lot of heat and was pleasently surprised. That said it has used a cloyingly sweet heavy handed use of sugar to mask it. Flavour is basically sweet caramel that has a touch of burnt sugar at the end and a touch of bitterness. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Jul 4, 2009 Can: Sweet, very sweet, candy like, loaded with alcohol. Not enjoyable, could not finish it. Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Jul 1, 2009 500 ml can. Dark copper colour. Clear. Inconclusive aroma. Lots of caramel malts and sugar. Feels very sugary. Cloying alcohol aroma. Flavours are caramel and toffe with a sharp sugary finish. This is clearly a lager. Clean flavours with a sweet edge. High carbonation, but once that settles a little bready characters come through. Not that bad, but still a little artificial. I had expected worse. DeanF (285), Paris, France Jun 27, 2009 Bubbly texture with a big head (though I poured it aggressively just to make sure!). Weird sugary aroma. Taste is a very sweet malt-candy thing that’s closer to pop than beer. Like everything’s just been overpowered by flavouring from some unknown vat. Might be a good alcoholic replacement for coca-cola. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 23, 2009 Eeecchh. A fairly unpleasant brew right from the get go...why do I keep sampling Bavaria stuff?
Poured out a large light tan head that was somewhat rocky and proved to have really good retention not to mention lots of silty, sticky lacing. Very nice reddish dark amber with ample fine carbonation and the slightest of unfilteredness (that can’t possibly be a word..). When cold the aroma is quite unappealing but it does gain some quality back when warmer - lots of malt, grain, sweet and some funk that is in no way related to the skunk family (serious). Pretty plain and boring, actually. Something in there reminds me of what you smell after a rainstorm. Well, this stuff is borderline undrinkable. Strong taste is a blend of random malt (maybe something related to caramel - this can be found at the end of the sip, lingering), chemicals, alcohol, herbs.. who cares about the rest - this shit sucks! Mouthfeel is so-so and depends on how much and how fast you drink it - a bit syrupy, seems thin and then seems medium bodied, ick...heavy finish. Near to zero bitterness. Save your money for that wrap around thorn bicep tattoo you’ve always wanted..... Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 9, 2009 Can 50 cl. Courtesy of Storm. Pours a clear reddish amber with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish and lightly perfumy aroma. Quite full-bodied, very sweet malts, brewing syrup and sugar. The sweetness overpowers everything here - even the slightly sulphurous finish. 010509 rosenbergh (843), Helsinki, Finland May 6, 2009 Updated: May 7, 2009500 ml can. From Tallinn, Estonia.
Dark red colour with medium head.
Sweet, dark fruits aroma with hints of alcohol. But the flavour is pure alcohol. Vodka, some liqueur, dried fruits and liquorice. Quite sweet and warming allright. This is not what I’m looking for when want a beer. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands May 6, 2009 Can, bought some where in Paris. Clear golden amber-brown colour with a medium white head leaving a fair lacing. Sweet caramel and malty aroma with some dark fruits. Ok mouthfeel. the flavour is sweet with malt and alcohol along with some metal and abitter sweet alco caramel finish.
