heavy (815), Split, Croatia Aug 6, 2008 01/08 0.33 l aluminium bottle from Interspar in BTC, Ljubljana. Sure, it poured red body with small ebony head that lived for very short. It had quite weak cherry and caramel aroma and similar flavor, which is not nearly as bad as I’ve expected. Overall it’s sweetish with some minor alcoholic notes, medium bodied, which makes its nice caramel finish quite short. Much better than original 8.6 and actually would be great beer if had some more body. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. Flavor likewise with a boozy finish. cellar (484), Dublin, Ireland Jul 14, 2008 red amber beer with short white head, notes of roasted malt, ripe fruit, some toffee and prunes, very sweet flavour and little unpleasant alcohol in finish. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jul 9, 2008 Supercan. I can’t believe I forgot to include this in the malt liquor taste-off while camping a couple weekends back! This was quite a surprise. To begin with, it poured brown, and had a definite faint berry aroma. The paalte was sweet, as expected, but again it was unanimously agreed that there was a jammy berry fruit character in this, not dominating, but not exactly subtle either. Finish was short and dry. Maybe it’s because the Colt 45 was SO bad, but this was actually drinkable. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 7, 2008 500ml can. Pours amber/red, light tan rocky head. Aroma is sweet and caramel-like with a trace of alcohol beneath it. Sweet flavour, more caramel. Finishes with moderated alcohol and lingering sweetness. Medium sticky body, medium tingly carbonation. I did not mind this, not bad for a malt liquor, but that’s not really saying much is it? goozen (1061), Leiden, Netherlands Jul 5, 2008 Can 0,5ltr: The red version of 8.6 with an alcohol of 7.9. But this one have an more fruity taste and hints of caramel. radiomgb (1921), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 23, 2008 Clear rich copper in colour, thin off-white coloured head, patchy lacing. The aroma was quite sweet, some cardboard and caramel. The flavouris sickly sweet, very cloying, caramel, vegetables and alcohol. Very sweet mouthfeel, light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes very sweet, lingering.
Incredibly sweet from start to finish, some alcohol and just plain horrible.
