JRHBrew (217), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada May 23, 2008 Surprisingly drinkable. It has a long list of faults including weird sweetness, somewhat unpleasant chemical taste, BUT, its actually not terrible. Its not a taste to enjoy but its tolerable for getting boozed. bierkoning (5987), La Tropica, Netherlands May 19, 2008 Can. Reddish brown color. Grainy aroma with a touch of caramel. Grainy sweet, somewhat sticky flavor with caramel, bitter nuts and apple. Some alcohol. Not good. note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands Apr 12, 2008 can, 500ml, 7.9%.
nice amber look, taste is sweet kind of cherry-like.
not too bad, I would buy it again ....
JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 11, 2008 Good yellow-amber head, creamy over redbrown to chestnut beer. Sweetish pastry notse, dark and other malts. Sligthly meat-ester aroma. Again sweet-pastrylike, with caramel & molasses. Finish is watery, certainly for such a heavy beer. Some alcohol; warming up it gets really sticky, molasses dominating more and more. Better than feared, but still pretty basic macrosw... caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Mar 20, 2008 Canned. Clear redbrown color, thick head. Aroma of caramel malt, sugar, bit cookie. Taste is quite sweet, not as alcoholic as I expected, malty, and it is actually drinkable. I wouldn’t buy it again probably, but it is not that bad. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 19, 2008 Attractive thick head and lasting clump on dark red beer. Still smells like alcohol and malt liquor. Sweet malt and alcohol taste. The alcohol warming stats immediately. For the style very smooth. Still very very sweet, too much so. get a headache and get tired half way through. skortila (2875), Bunnik, Netherlands Mar 19, 2008 Canned. Aroma has sugar and caramel malts, some fruits. Clear, red-brown coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is sweet, sugary, fruity with raisins. Too sweet and sticky, but reasonable enjoyable. Did not expect that. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 9, 2008 Can, Legends Liquor Store, Richmond Beautiful reddish-amber, nice carbo. Light head. Light caramel nose. Thick, sugary, caramelly with boozy undertone of cheap blended scotch. Harsh alcohol finish...and this is mixing with icing sugar cloying. Bleh.
