It’s a very sweet beer, with cherry notes. Full body. I don’t think it is overly carbonated as reported in previously ratings.

Pours a clear amber body that is covered by a thin layer of tan foam. Nose has metal, caramel and baking soda. Taste is sweet and caramelly. Carbonation is average and the palate is fairly rich. This is a bit boozy and cloying. Not my type.

330ml metal bottle. Bavaria footed lager glass. Reddish brown color, clear appearance. Off-white froth creates a close & lasting crown. Sweet aromas of caramel malts & fruit. Toasted & caramel malt upfront. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slight earthy bitterness is overwhelmed by sweet notes & sugary warming alcoholic sensation. Subtle woody & smoky hues. Dry finish & caramelish sugar on the aftertaste. Better drink it at chill temperature to avoid it being cloying. Nice Malt liquor.

smells sweet like candied sugar and light malt pours a luxorious red with a beautiful tan head with epic lacing but the taste is so bunk and blah its so sweet my cheeks cringed up

50cl can @ a friend’s birthday. Nice red color, medium sized quickly disappearing off-white to beige head. Sweetish aroma, not much more. Taste malts, sweetness, sweet artificial fruit, very sugary. Average body, average carbonation.

Special Red Beer. Nada que ver! Horriblemente dulce. Imposible tomar 500ml. Sabor a extracto de malta. El color cobre & la espuma engañan. La birra es como tomar licor. Lúpulo zero. Malísima.

Every so often I try something I shouldn’t: this 500ml can is a typical example of this type of thing. A tramps lager maybe? Poured into two ’Home Ales’ Robin Hood badged Countryman half pint tankards (one for my son) on 23rd Dec 13. Looks a proper red colour, a lovely mahogany hue actually: the white head refused to hang around, but a quick swirl soon brought it back (only to fall away again very swiftly). The aroma was of malty red fruits and although my initial thoughts were to drink it out of a brown paper bag, I was pleasantly surprised by the smell, taste and feel of the brew. Everything was a little too sweet, but I’m a fan of malty/semi-sweet brews so this almost fell into my ’zone’. Couldn’t get the ’brown paper bag’ idea out of my head though, so I couldn’t score it too highly.

Clear deep red amber appearance with medium head. Malty aroma, very sweet taste, low bitterness. Overall poor body, a bit off balance. Below average Strong Pale Lager.

Can at some random restaurant in Lyon, France. Pours a slightly dark amber body with a small white head. Nose is sweet caramel malts, bread dough, grains and hints of nuts. Taste is grains, bread, overtly sweet sugary malt tones and hints of toffee. Medium body and carbonation. Not really hitting the spot, this one, but it could be far worse, of course.
