2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Dorqui (1768) - Brescia, ITALY - JUN 11, 2006
Canned 0,50L. Adherent and compact foam, good persistence. Yellow color, lightly orange one; loads and
bubbly. Moderated scent, malt and alcohol notes. Fresh and decided taste.
Full bodied and extinguished vanished finish.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 dwyerpg (4067) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 31, 2006
While this rating is the same in score as the Bavarian Red, this is a better beer except for the poor malt liquor aroma. A smooth beer, really, with the alcohol coming through in the end but not as strong, so that it´s more enjoyable. The alcohol is more noticeable in the effect than the taste.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nagash (202) - Paris, FRANCE - MAY 15, 2006
Same thing than the original Bavaria 8.6, but the alcohol taste has been decreased to avoid the french taxes now applied on all beers with a alcohol degree --> 8° Hard to drink, strong caramel taste, orange too. But better than the original one.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Fukito (682) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 8, 2006
Bottle - March 2006
Pours a golden color with a white head that rapidly diminishes and a vivid carbonatation. Aroma is of yeast and somewhat skunky. Taste is sweet, almost cloying and has an alcohol burnt to it. Aftertaste is almost non existant. Not offensive but boring.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sigmund (4187) - Tau, NORWAY - MAR 13, 2006
650 ml very dark blueish green bottle, bought in France. ABV is 7.9%. Golden colour, large lasting head, decent lacing. Malty and fruity aroma with some alcoholic notes, but not unpleasant. Hints of oak and leather. Flavour is very sweet, but surprisingly it is not as repulsive as many other (often less sweet) golden strong lagers. Tolerable hops obviously contribute to a (nearly) acceptable balance. Moderate carbonation. I’ve had worse beers.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 12, 2006
(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear amber with a red, peachy hue and a creamy, off-white head that sticks to the glass. Sweetish, perfumy nose with some alcohol. Full, sweetish body with some caramel and sherry accents, but mainly it’s just alcoholic. Some fruity, perfumy notes. Very discreet bitterness. 120306
4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 CiroFerrara (85) - USA - FEB 24, 2006
Very sweet flavor, but the aroma is so god damn fantastic, that is must be a MUST for beer enjoyers. I tried it at a hotel, and I will never forget this impressively refreshing bottle. Try it if the possibility appears out of the blue.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Wacher (129) - Århus C, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2006
Orange. Aroma is lagerish. Very sweet flavor. Sherry and orange. Not very pleasant - tastes a bit like vodka too.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2005
65cl bottle from Auchan. Orange gold with wispy white head. Some alcohol heat some golden syrup and a tad medicinal. Some sweet fruit, definite orange. You know what? This isn’t at all bad if you like orange flvoured Chewits. Really rather good when I was expecting something strong and nasty. Would I drink it again? Not sure, but I would recommend people actually trying this special version
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 maeib (7542) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2005
Bottled. An orange coloured quite dead looking beer. The aroma is sweet and malty with some orange fruits and alcohol. The taste is sweet and malty. The alcohol is reasonably hidden. Tasty and almost refined.
