0.33 l bottle. Poured deep golden body with medium fluffy white head that went away pretty slowly. Initially, very nice aroma of citrus hops with lot of sweetish malts, too. Nice... Flavor, well, sweetish, a bit metallic at moments, with some alcohol felt. Quite empty bodied, with that alcohol that is specially felt in the finish which is also pleasantly sweetish. All in all, not so bad at all, but not good either. Makes it a convenient slow drinking beer after a dinner while watching TV.

[Sampled in Jura, France 2004.] Not that great experience. Strong ABV and fruity metallic flavor makes this beer a one night stand!

Bottled(330ml). -as Bavaria 8.6 Special Blond Beer, courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog (thx!)
Dark golden coloured, small airy white head, sweet alcoholic nose with odd hints of chocolate. Typical cheap malt liquor with sweet malty taste and strong alcohol presence. Iím too old for this beer...

Bavaria 8.6 Special Blond Beer (7.9% alc.), purchased at the Ipercoop in Kaötel Sućurac, shared with ozujsko.
Poured an orange tinted gold colour with a medium-small head that went away fast. Nose... dry yet sweetish, milk chocolate, caramel, alcohol. Odd but kinda nice. The taste was a bit of a letdown. Sweet, honeyish malty taste, typical for the style, as is the strong alcohol presence. Touch of caramel. One can sense some chewy hopiness drowned in all of that. Not impressive, but the alcohol presence did seem to get less noticable as I went through the glass, and the malt took the lead. Hoped for more. Ah, well. At least it isnít offensive. Still, its presence baffles me. Why on earth do we have both the regular 8.6 and this available on the market (through the same importer). Ok, so they cannot be found sitting side by side (yet?) but still...

50 cL can. Pours clear and golden with a diminished white head. Aroma is slight sweet malty. Flavour starts sweet, with a note of caramel. Ends with a minimal bitterness but remains rather sweet. Decent.

A dark golden beer with a white head. The aroma is very fruity, while the flavor is extremely sweet and malty with notes of alcohol giving it a thick body.

A bit sweet with hints of fruit. All in all, a decent beer, and shockingly good for a malt liquor.

Pours an impressively rich golden colour (considering itís a malt liquor, anyway) but the head is fizzy, white and short-lived as would be expected. The aroma has some surprisingly strong red apple tendencies (sans skin) and could almost fool me into thinking it was a cider were it not for the thin presence of honeyed malts underneath. Thereís also a gentle peppery hop profile, though I suppose it could actually be phenolic in its origin. Graciously, the alcohol isnít distinct, at least not a lower temperatures. Honey, bread and apples all come together in the flavour, where the alcohol is rather noticeable. The finish contains a gentle prickling spiciness and hosts a long fade into alcohol dryness. Some beers can get a pass on alcohol presence because itís clean and warm...this isnít one of those beers. I find it to be rather rough, like cheap vodka mixed with apple juice. Between medium and full-bodied, with slick texture and fine, but vigorous, carbonation. Really, the alcohol is just too much, otherwise itíd be an only slightly sub-par beer. 50cl can, Leffe goblet, bbe 02-2009.

ík wist niet dat het een Malt liquor was. Het had een beetje alcohol smaak. verder was het wel een lekker biertje.
