2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
A dark golden beer with a white head. The aroma is very fruity, while the flavor is extremely sweet and malty with notes of alcohol giving it a thick body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A bit sweet with hints of fruit. All in all, a decent beer, and shockingly good for a malt liquor.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours an impressively rich golden colour (considering it’s a malt liquor, anyway) but the head is fizzy, white and short-lived as would be expected. The aroma has some surprisingly strong red apple tendencies (sans skin) and could almost fool me into thinking it was a cider were it not for the thin presence of honeyed malts underneath. There’s also a gentle peppery hop profile, though I suppose it could actually be phenolic in its origin. Graciously, the alcohol isn’t distinct, at least not a lower temperatures. Honey, bread and apples all come together in the flavour, where the alcohol is rather noticeable. The finish contains a gentle prickling spiciness and hosts a long fade into alcohol dryness. Some beers can get a pass on alcohol presence because it’s clean and warm...this isn’t one of those beers. I find it to be rather rough, like cheap vodka mixed with apple juice. Between medium and full-bodied, with slick texture and fine, but vigorous, carbonation. Really, the alcohol is just too much, otherwise it’d be an only slightly sub-par beer. 50cl can, Leffe goblet, bbe 02-2009.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden colour, medium, solid head. Grainy, slightly sweet flavour. Not very alcoholic, but not quite complex. Reminds me of our Kaper beer, but with less character and depth.
