Metallic bottle. Oveja negra pub. Argentina. First of all, bavaria has different breweies for Europe and South America. Here, in Argentina, 8.6 is a great red beer. Alcoholic, good body and excellent taste. Sweet but strong with great presence of hops. It´s a little bit metallic but in general is a wonderful beer.

Solid beer. Redish amber color with average carbonation. Taste of malt, fruit, caramel and alcohol. This was best beer of my youth. With 3 of this you could get really drunk. :-)

OK, so I was sitting at Hooters killing time waiting for a nearby faux-British pub to open up, on Calle Uruguay in Panama City. So I got bored and rated a beer. It was a pale gold one, quite clear, fizzy, sweet, bready and fruity alcohol from a can. Malt liquor for Dutch hobos, if I had to guess.

Clear bright deep yellow, frothy white head slowly diminshes. Fruity malt and alcohol aroma. Strong sweet fruity malts, alcohol taste turns carmelly. Lightly hopped, softly carbed, light bodied. Dry bitter alcohol finish. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Aroma of corn and abv. Sweet corn with a prominate abv gassing. There is an almost grainy texture to it. The warmth is a bit like paint thinner smells. This seems to be a push for abv at any cost. This kinda tastes like a candy bar that has been wiped down with a rag soaked in thinner. Nice sweet but the harsh alcohol kills it. Is this the worst beer I’ve ever had? Not by a long shot

Part of a 500 ml can from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass. 13OC11.

App.: Clear deep golden with a nice white head. Aroma: Vague grain/cereal/adjunct, a little biscuit, some odd sweetness, vague light fruitiness, a little fusel oil and alcohol. Palate: Medium body, relaxed carbonation. Flav.: Typical malt liquor, fruity, sickly sweet, alcoholic, grain/cereal grossness, fairly horrible, what a misuse of “Bavaria”; sickly sweet with limited bitterness and biting alcohol and biting alcohol, followed by a strange peppery/sweet fruity finish.

This doesn’t taste like Bavaria at all.

Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 14, 2011
Originally rated April 2006. Best before date on the bottom of the can reads 05-2007. Pours a golden-caramel colour (darker than most lagers) with a white foamy head. Carbonation is under-average and retention is not bad. Dirty lacing with a nose of cereals. Medium mouthfeel. The cereal is present in the taste as well, with some mild bitterness. Alcohol is there too, but very well blended, with no burn found. No corn in this one. Quite an interesting malt liquor that is slightly different from others.

Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Clear yellow / golden color, white head. Smell malts and sweet. Taste malts, sweet and a little alcohol. Lightly bitter perhaps. Nothing special, but decent.
