Commercial Description:
This is a classic beer made with special malts and raw materials that produce its amber color, as well as its body and rather dry, light character that distinguishes it from other dark beers. In contrast to the general perception that traditional dark beers are bitter and “heavy,” Bavaria Dark has very different characteristics, due to its hops content. Bavaria Dark was launched in 2001.

Thin, malty, clear brown, and fizzy. Grape in the flavor. Descriptions that suggest a smell of a public restroom are not too far from accurate.

Bottle from a March 2004 trip to Costa Rica. A deep brown color with a tan head. Toasted malts with a dustry aroma. A sufficient body to make it a fair lager to drink.

Poured a dark brown with a thin fizzy off-white head. There really wasn’t much of an aroma, but you can pick of some of the roasted malts. It’s rather mild and goes down pretty easy. It’s not a bad brew.
