Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, bread notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091114]

A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of smoke and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of sweet berries combined with a hint of acidity. An OK beer - but not as good as other Oud Bruins.

30 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is mild vegetable and roasted malt. Sweet caramelish flavoured. Light bitterness, mainly sweet though. Ends sweet and caramelish.

(Bottle 30 cl) Very pretty, clear, reddish mahogany with a dense, beige head. Discreet aroma of sweet, roasted malt. Light and watery body. Sweetish notes of roasted malt and absolutely no bitterness. 211006

Bottled. Deep amber colour, big beige fluffy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some barnyard and slight bittering hops. Flavour is sweet caramel malts, some earth, syrup, sugar and mild notes of fudge. Quite watery, but lots of flavours for being only 3%.

Bottle, 3%. clear dark brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is very sweet. Has a mild bread note, some lactose. Quite sweet, but not only white or brown sugar.

Sweet, sugary, sticky and caramelly. Thin. Chicken food aftertaste.
Suitable only for drinking after long and hard labor or sport activities.

Das Bier schmeckt süß, gleichzeitig ist es würzig und malzig, wobei diese 3 Komponenten gut aufeinander abgestimmt sind. Der Abgang ist leicht herb. Danke an den Doppelbock, der das Bier mitgebracht und mit mir getestet hat.

Bottle: Ruby-amber coloured, no head; sweet caramelly-nutty nose with a very faint bitterness; light to moderate sweet flavour, light bodied; traces of bitterness showing up in the thin caramelly finish. Drinkable and quite similar to a german Malzbier.......
