SilkTork (4151), Rochester, Kent, England Aug 25, 2006 Can. Tesco Premium lager. Inoffensive. Soft hops initially barely distinguished from the acidity of the carbonation. Drinkable, but lack of body and taste makes this a very boring drink indeed. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 19, 2006 Bottle in Vodice, Croatia. Enjoyed this slight lager on beach. Can’t say it was too filling, bit of a malty flavour and bubbely. How come Bavaria is a Dutch beer? No idea. messymatt (36), Netherlands Aug 15, 2006 This beer is pretty ordinary, I accidenally bought a six pack of plastic bottles so I couldn’t even go back and glass the guy who sold it too me.
Fin (3376), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 14, 2006 Cans picked up at Morrissons, Aylesbury 8th August 2006, and drank this in a field at Cropredy, Fairport Conventions Cropredy Festival Friday 11th August. Pours light golden, very fizzy, but very very unexciting, refreshing is probably a plus point I could put it’s way. I have had a lot better but to be fair I have had an awful lot worse. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2006 Can from the LCBO. Clear light gold with a small qhite head that recedes quickly. Aroma of grainy malt with some decent honey and herb notes. Light, crisp body. Sweet honeyish malt off the top of the flavour, leading into an interesting lemony middle, and a mild, herbal finish. I got none of the corn notes that a lot of raters seem to have gotten - it’s an unexciting beer to be sure, but a fairly clean and adjunct-free one to my nose & palate. pootzboy (1035), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Aug 10, 2006 Can from the LCBO:
Poured a deep gold clear lager with a rocky 2 finger cap with fair retention and lacing...
Aroma is fairly well pronounced grainy/bready malts with light floral hopping somewhat like clover ( no dutch skunk here like Heineken)...
..fair malt spine. soft mineral mouth feel, smooth rounded malty character....
Fairly 2 dimensional Dutch lager with a good dose of carapils malts up front then a light herbal-lemony effect from attenuated nobel hopping, clean finish, slight drying from a light use of wheat... biscuit after taste ....like a malty, soft pilsner....this is what Grolsch would taste like if they pumped up their malts and were medium bodied.
A decent Euro all malt golden lager from a lagge dutch brewer who do their own malting....clean malty taste, minimal sweetnes, subdued lemmony hopping, soft mouth feel...no surprizes or over complexity....very drinkable....I’ll buy more if there is no JR Brickman around.
DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Jul 30, 2006 Nose is corn and other adjuncts, light amber, finger of white foam, bit of lace. Taste is corn, malt, some hops. Grainy, bitter. Poor. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 27, 2006 This stuff is pretty foul overall. One of the cheapest lagers found in any corner store in Ireland. Pours a light golden with a fizzy white head turns into nothing. Skunky and metalic hops , slightly herbal and earthy. Flavor is bland and lifeless with some wet cardboard, stale crackery malt, and some more stale hops in the end to skunk it up more and ruin the palate. Gross.
