maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 24, 2009 Bottle with MaltDawg on 08/16/2008 or sometime shortly afterward since these ratings were lost for a half a year. I only wrote down Bavaria - Holland in my notes, so hopefully this is the correct beer. Clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet corn, pilsener and honey malt aroma with some skunk. Honey malt and corn flavor. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.
Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 Typical Holland beer, when will they learn? It’s all the same beer under different labels. dwaggs2 (531), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear gold color. Nothing too special. Aroma is malts, grass, corn, and grains. Flavor is kind of earthy, skunk, and malts. Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Feb 28, 2009 Updated: Mar 1, 2009500 mL Can. This one poured very lively and very frothy; it may not have had enough time to settle from a wipe-out I had on an ice patch on the way out from the store (a later visitation revealed a scanty white head that again left good lacing on the sides). Grainy aroma with a grassyness about it and a very faint note of grapefruit. The taste is light sweet malt with relatively little aftertaste followed by a clean finish. A very light bodied beer, the flavor is a bit shy but I wouldn’t call it watery by any means. Quite smooth in the mouth. Best suited for hot summer beer-drinking. There are lots of more expen$ive beers that get a lesser, and sometimes VERY LESSER rating. Brownie points for good value. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Feb 24, 2009 Can. (as Tesco Premium Lager, 5%) A clear, slightly pale golden beer topped by a small, white head. Grainy and malty on the nose, quite sweetish, with a touch of fruits. Malty-sweet, grainy and quite weak flavor with a quite pleasant bitterness. The bitterness is actually the best part of this beer, else it’s too grainy and sweet, also in the finish. Medium body. Decent, and sort of quenching even though it’s on the sweet side. Don’t see any reason to re-visit though. (081220) luttonm (274), Belgrade, Serbia Feb 23, 2009 .5l can (’premium genuine imported’) found here in Serbia. Sweet nose with average looks, tallish head. taste is sweet, lemon bread. crisp enough but rather bland. Inoffensive, which is a compliment in these parts. donfardz64 (406), Wellington, New Zealand Feb 9, 2009 Sweet, watery, grainy. Dryish finish. Basic cheap lager, with a bit of flavour. Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England Feb 8, 2009 This was popular with Hill-Billies when I was visiting rural Somerset. As a city slicker born and raised, I could not get into this. This aint a pilsener at all for 1. Overly sweet .Grainy and dry ,with apple esters and a crapload of H20.
