UPDATED: JUN 16, 2007 This was once (quite some time ago) my favorite beer. Why ? It’s foreign, it has a plain but maybe enjoyable taste, and everyone else said it was great. Now I know better. And it seems that those people who were "everyone else" know better too. A passable mass produced pils. Rated Premium Pils accidentaly before... copied the review here and deleted the other one.

330 ml green bottle labelled Bavaria Original Brew. Pale golden colour with a mostly diminishing creamy and fizzy white head. Grassy and perfumed aroma. Starts with sweet buttery corn flavour finishing with an unpleasant oily bitterness. Light bodied and fizzy.

Blatantly not from Bavaria but it does tastes a little bit like a Helles. Nice soft malt but it’s a bit milky. Not much hop going on but I guess that’s the style. Not bad.

In the bottle. Smelled skunky, poured a golden pale yellow with awhite fluffy head. The head did not last too long. Odd thing was that there was no skunky taste. Mild bitterness and standard pilsner malt content. This would not hold up to most German pilsners. Very inexpensive 12-pack from the grocery store.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2006 Almost water, I couldn’t find the premium the can was printed in it. But anyway was cool for a game, just like a Budweisser.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2004 Bottle. Imported from Holland. Why they bother, I don’t know. Think Budweiser with a pinch more hops. Don’t let the low price on an import fool you - it’s no better than many cheap American beers and worse than some. BUY AGAIN?: Never

440 ml. can...NZ$12.00/dozen at the moment; who could pass it up? Pale brown; average fuzzy head. Slightlly grassy but nothing much else in terms of flavour or aroma. The aftertaste left by the the grassiness is, however, quite pleasant, IMHO. Goes well with a full stomach and a long night of sport-watching.
