Bottle. Bought in a Co-Operative shop in the isle of Man, July 2011.
Pleasant aroma on opening.Clear with a small head and no lacing. Innofensive and bland Euro pils but probably the best beer on the island!
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 cheapdark (2809) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2007
Don’t ya just love those green bottles? Date code 1719, aged well! My bottle did not say pilsner on it, it said Bavaria Holland Beer. Sometimes these out of country labels are difficult to ID for a rating. Pop the lid and there is immediately a short pungent veggie cabbage aroma. Once poured it mellows into a simple, clean and perhaps sweet smell. Looks like any other ubiquitous pale yellow American lager. Taste is a little pinchy, like an instigating pilsner. A small back of throat mild bitter linger hangs for a while. Good medium carbonation. Has a very thin froth on top for a head. Stacks up well against American pale lagers and perhaps even pilsners. Overall not bad but could have a few more manners. For a lager it is too much and for a pilsner it is not enough. After a few chugs there is this industrial hint of alcohol lurking around on the back of the tongue.
1.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 zach8270 (2803) - Henrietta, New York, USA - APR 20, 2009
(bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is bitter and majorly skunky. Flavor is sweet and malty with some hay and incredibly bitter hops at the start. Finishes sweet and relatively smooth. Just hard to get past the skunky smell.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vyvvy (2798) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - SEP 13, 2006
Pours urine test yellow with a large white fluffy head. The aroma is lightly grainy malt with traces of corn. The body is slightly above light with fizzy carbonation. The taste is simple and light, creamy smooth malt with a light sweet fake fruit taste. The finish has a light touch of spicy hops. It wasn’t horrible at this point, but once it started warming up a bit it started tasting more and more like sweet corn. I could take no more and had to pour it.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 patrick767 (2772) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 27, 2005
bottle - Poured a decent looking yellow/gold, almost no head. There isn’t much going on with this beer. Palate is thin and the flavor is quite malty. The hops are very subdued. It’s better than having a Bud, but that’s not saying much.
