1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Kristall-König (1552) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2011
In einem holländischen Freizeitpark getrunken. PET-Flasche mit einem Pull-Ring-Verschluß zum Aufreißen. Seltsam.
Geruch herb-süßlich, leichte Zitrusaromen. Im Geschmack sehr herb, wobei im Mittelteil etwas Süße auftaucht, die aber sofort von der gewaltigen Bitteren überdeckt wird.
Bitterer Nachhall.
Bis ins Unangenehme überhopftes Bier. Gefällt mir nicht.

Pale yellow beer with small head. Aroma of grain, grassy notes. Flavour is a little malt and some hop bitterness. Light bodied with a dry finish.

Yellow color clearly. Firm, little fizzy. Classic beer trades them without defined body.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ALLOVATE (1535) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - SEP 5, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2006 One of the last dregs of the ’Liquorland’ lot. Amazed I hadn’t tasted it yet, thought I was through with novelty pilsners. Poured a sparkling, yellowy gold with fine carbonation capped off with a loose, rocky white crown that managed to stick around for the length leaving minimal legs. Dry, fresh mowed grass and dusty malt aroma, quite clean but lacking somewhat. Thin, watery, soft palate. Light blend of barnyard grain, souring malt and stale hops. Gently bitter on the finish with a soapy, short swallow. Nothing too offensive, quite straightforward, bland and brain-dead quaffing. So-so. (33cL, BBE 05/07, Liquorland throughout Oz) re-rate - Bloody spelling mistakes, bloody iespell not working...
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Gethinbeer (1524) - Musky, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JUL 12, 2007
From bottle. Bought this beer at my local corner store. Im struggling for beer lately. It was called Bavaria Holland Beer and was definitely 5%. Malty aroma later settling to hints of chemicals. Very clear in appearance. Surprisingly sweet with a little flavour of hops and malt. Had a cheap feel to it but drink this after San Miguel you would think it was the finest Bavarian beer ever.

Ah Bavaria, while you may be a region rich with beer brewing history, culture, and of course, beer, the fizzy macro lager that bares your proud name is anything but rich. Well, rich with excessive carbonation which doesn’t count for anything other than gas. Clear light straw with bubbles screaming to be let free, no head, and his meager white collar looks as if he really wants to be somewhere else. His nose is the sweet wonderful smell of adjuncts which I pretty much associate these days with all homogenized mass-market light lagers. Lemon cream meets wonderbread while grains and corn soak in the sunshine. His palate is clean, refreshing, and watery. Thin in the front and middle, his exuberant carbonation gives the majority of his palate a carbonated water essence. Only in the finish and back of my throat does any flavor come out to play: wonderbread with a kiss of lemon. A few more sips and melted lemon-ice reminds me of the plastic tubes of artificially flavored sugar water that we’d stick in the freezer by the dozens and suck down in the hot summer sun when I was a kid. I’d quaff and repeat to find more, but failure is not an option so I suck down the last few trickles of Bavaria and bid that blemish farewell.
Beers like this always remind me of what Greg Koch said during the Beer Wars documentary. I’m supposed to accept this?! Nope. Sorry. Not going to happen. Or, why drink Bavaria when you can drink water which is free and tastes better.

On tap somewhere in Amsterdam. Yellow color with small white head. Aroma of grain and malt. Taste, grain, strange artificial fruity background, hints of bitter hops. Bad.
