2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Papillon (283) - Sudbury, - FEB 28, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2009 500 mL Can. This one poured very lively and very frothy; it may not have had enough time to settle from a wipe-out I had on an ice patch on the way out from the store (a later visitation revealed a scanty white head that again left good lacing on the sides). Grainy aroma with a grassyness about it and a very faint note of grapefruit. The taste is light sweet malt with relatively little aftertaste followed by a clean finish. A very light bodied beer, the flavor is a bit shy but I wouldn’t call it watery by any means. Quite smooth in the mouth. Best suited for hot summer beer-drinking. There are lots of more expen$ive beers that get a lesser, and sometimes VERY LESSER rating. Brownie points for good value.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2012
Green 66cl bottle, best before May 2008, drank April 2007.
Poured into a 0.2 litre Veltins tulip glass.
The white head soon left to leave a scummy wispy covering on top a crisp light golden yellow body.
Hoppy aroma, nothing much of anything else.
A typical Euro lager taste, no body or depth, no flavours to pontificate about.
Watery mouthfeel, nothing there at all.
Could easily have scored this a lot lower, not a beer I would choose again.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 VsXsV (464) - Linköping, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2012 Bottle. Thanks to Countbeer for this one! Clear, hay/yellow liquid with medium, foamy white head. Looks like a boring lager. Aroma of cereal malt, metal, corn, a little throw up, cooked vegetables and some very light noble hops. Not exactly pleasant. Taste is very bland with very light sweetness and light bitterness and notes of corn and metal. Quite tasteless, which is good considering that the small taste that is there isn’t really good. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not too high carbonation like most other premium lagers, which is good. A bit sticky though, in a weird way. Not good at all, though not entirely awful. Thanks a LOT Kamiel... ;)

This one is as expected; a light but somehow refreshing beer. Metallic scents and flavors aside, the corn and straw elements somehow create a tolerable brew. Very drinkable, but very light and dry overall.
