2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Deze radler heeft een zoete grapefruitgeur. De smaak is idem dito. De grapefruitsmaak is redelijk natuurlijk. Een lichte ondertoon van pils - niet meer. Lekker bij warm weer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
June 2016 - 500ml can in sunny Positano, as ’Bavaria Radler Twist of Grapefruit’ 2.0%. Aroma is Orangina, orangeade ... etc etc. Body is frothy with light carbonation. Taste is more orange than grapefruit to me, pleasant like all radlers. Not as sweet or as fizzy as soda, nor as thin and flavourless as many macro pale lagers. Some grapefruit on the burp. Significantly better than a soft drink. (2.6)

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
Aroma: Initial aroma of grapefruit and soiled diaper. The grapefruit remains in the front, while the diaper aroma moves in a corner. Grapefruit flesh, pith are medium to medium-high throughout.
Appearance: Hazy, yellow, light pink body. Small, very light head. Fair retention.
Flavour: Medium grapefruit, light acidity. Light vomit. Medium-dry finish with lingering grapefruit.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: The beer never comes to play. It is effectively a sparkling, alcoholic, fruit drink. The aroma is the bit that confused me the most, and combined with a vomit flavour it is really off putting..
330 ml bottle, poured.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Appearance: hazy dull pink with a short, short-lived pinkish head, no lacing. (2/5) Aroma: sweet grapefruit juice, faint grainy malt. (5/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate tart. (4/10) Light body, moderate carbonation, short duration sweet and tart finish. (2/5)
Well, it’s better than their lemon - but that’s not saying a lot. The grapefruit aromas don’t come across as being artificial, the way the lemon does, but it falls down on the tongue - and it’s still far too sweet. Basically a very slightly alcoholic soda pop, and I find soda far too sweet to drink. (9/20)

500 mL can. Lovely aroma. In the flavour, there are virtually no beer characteristics. And there is a hint of wet cigarette butts in the finish. Somehow.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket, odd that they sell this in winter... Moussy, off-pinkish, irregular head with retaining rim, cloudy pinkish salmon colour with peachy hue. Aroma of citrus-flavored children’s medicine (Lysomucil tablets), heavily sugared grapefruit-flavored soda (Schweppes Agrum), orange lemonade (Fanta) and, in warming up, a very, very faint hint of sourish grains representing the ’beer’ component, but expectedly completely drowned in lemonade. Flavour mirrors the nose perfectly: very sweet lemonade-like onset of cloying white sugar and ascorbid acid, artificial citrus (more orange than grapefruit, but then, what difference does that make in this industrial environment), very strong carbo like a Coca Cola Company soda, otherwise light mouthfeel with ongoing sugared citrus lemonade effect, revealing a weak echo of grains somewhere at the back, no sign of hops, but instead a kind of chemical, aspirine-like bitterness shows up, only to be drowned in the lemonade taste (for the better, I guess). This is Radler in the most industrial, soda pop way imaginable, like any other one conquering the market in the Low Countries right now. I do not care for this kind of beverages at all and in its context, this is not even the best one, given the light chemical wryness it has.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at home. Pours cloudy pink/gold. Grapefruit, tangerines, lemonade, paper. Sweet with development towards sour, then an abrupt stale cardboard finish. Thin body and sticky sugary mouthfeel (like soda pop). Moderate carbo. Seems alright for what it is.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
300 ml. bottle (bastards!) @ home. Purchased from Albert Heijn. Lemonade grapefruit touch hazy pink, not much in the way of head. Nose is nice sweet grapefruit lemonade & sweeteners, pleasant enough and nothing off-putting. Nose is sparkling, chemical lemonade, aspirin, aspartame, chemical grapefruit, finish is light pale lager, chemical, faint corn & cardboard, touch washing powder,… Sparkling lemonade. Decent enough as a lemonade, not too many chemical notes, drinks easily enough. Pretty decent for what it is but I can still never see myself picking this one over grapefruit juice or lemonade. Still pretty decent for what is basically a lemonade.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500 ml bottle from The Beer Store. Pours a cloudy pinkish orange with a small white head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit, but not sickly so, with very little malt character. Flavour is sweet grapefruit with some gentle tartness and hints of maltiness. Body is better than I’d have expected for 2% ABV. Ok.
