3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 ralphdot (505) - Billingham, Durham, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2012
7.9% deep amber colour with a thin head, caramel malt aroma and taste, I think this could be the best of the Bavaria beers.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jolo (519) - Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA - NOV 27, 2011
Can at the Cape Town Festival of Beer 2011. A clear red amber colour with a small, fizzy, white head. An aroma of malt and fruit. The taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. A medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium long duration.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 probstk (1911) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2011
500 ml can, random silly purchase from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass. 27OC11.
App.: Clear deep copper with a fair light tan froth.
Aroma: Unexpectedly pleasant toasted cereals, earthy malts, slightly fruity toffee, a little brown sugar, minerals, a little alcohol, bread crust, toast, not bad!
Palate: Medium body, fairly aggressive carbonation.
Flav.: Dirty wet ash, an oddly sweet/bitter note, only remnants of the lovely malts in the nose, maybe a little dark dried fruit, not good!; strangely off-dry, inappropriately bitter with a gross fruity, artificial sweetener finish.
The ol’ “bait and switch”.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sevenlee (352) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - NOV 5, 2011
Pours a dark coppery red with a dense off-white head. Aroma is sweet fruit malt. Taste is also sweet sugary fruit with little bitterness to balance it with. Has a nice warming alcohol feel. OK but not great.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Orgeogre (10) - Lyon, FRANCE - NOV 1, 2011
Sipping a can of this whilst writing.
OK this is a mass produced brew but it’s not as bad as that.
It has a very nice colour with a nice dense foamy head.. OK it doesn’t have the complexity of a Begian brew and it’s a tad too sugary but as industrial beers go I think this is drinkable. Far better than the other brews from the same stable!
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Derek881 (662) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - SEP 16, 2011
Poured from a tall can purchased in France into a tall thin glass to drink. The beer had a dark amber-red color with an average-sized foamy white head that had short retention and light cling. It had a caramel malt aroma with a bit of fruity, molasses, and earthy tones. The beer tasted highly sweet with a mix of fruity and caramel flavors and just a bit of a sour effect. It was quite light on the palate with low carbonation and was rather wet and watery.

Can from the beer boutique in toronto.
Dark red pour, big beige head. Aroma of sweet fusel alcohol, creamed corn, and very boozey astringent malts. The flavor is quite bitter, and mixed with a nasty cloying malty sweetness. Wow, this is awful, drain pour.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Spab (1114) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2011
500 ml can from The Beer Store (Beer Boutique). Pours a clear reddish brown with good-sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and some alcohol. Sugary, caramel malt flavour with strong alcohol presence. Burning alcohol finish. Oddly watery. Not good.
