Bavaria 8.6 Red

[2526-20091011] 500mL can. Generic grains and mild petrol aroma. Clear, amber red body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity grains flavour finishes like sweet candied pear. Medium-full body. Strong, bold everything.

Can purchased in a Spar store in Nice, drunk on the bus going from Nice. Poured a dark amber/red colour with an off white medium sized thick head. Sweet, finely fruity malty nose slightly ruined by some notes of alcohol. A warming sweet malty, pleasantly fruity taste, very nice in a way at first, but the alcohol kicks in again and it ends badly. There’s big potential here... but just potential.

2009-10-11. Dark red brown body with a decent tan head that fades. 3+ Sweet aroma, malt, alcohol, light rough grainy notes. Flavour has a pleasant sweet malt one second and sickly saccharine the next, similarly a pleasant fruity Belgian like alcohol turns harsh. Average palate. Less terrible than it could be, but not particularly good either. Can from the LCBO

Tasted from the can to glass. Dark red colour with a witha easy going head. Sweet malt aromas very very on front. Sweet taste too. Not so pleasnet aftertaste Avarage beer.

Dark amber coloured beer with small white head and medium carbonation. Sweet aroma. Full sweet palate. Finish is sweet fruity ending bit dry.

At least this was a great looking beer, with a rocky white head perhaps a single finger in depth on top of a glorious red body. And, said head did take more than a couple of minutes to drift away. The aroma was "different", being rather sweet, and this continued on with the taste. Actually, it was too sweet. Decent mouthfeel but again the sweetness make this a beer I would not seek out again. Well okay, I did have a second can, given to me by my son. Would’ve been criminal not to drink it. Liked it a bit more the second time, but still too much with the sweet.

Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, roasted, sweet malt, sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090501]
