Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 1, 2005 An unclear orange beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of hops and hints of citrus. The flavor is dry with notes of spices and oranges, as well as hints of banana. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 1, 2005 Bottled, labeled "Ezel". Cloudy dark yellow. Aroma of orange and curacao. Sweet and intensely fruity with with rounded, mellow mouthfeel. Rich for a wit, but certainly not refreshing. Earlier Rating: 1/15/2002 Total Score: 2.4 Hazily white/yellow. Malty, fatty, some orange aroma. A witbier on steroids.
Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 2, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) A very unusual witbier. Clear and not hazy with a rather strong alcohol. Some odd, dry sweet’n’sour notes. An off bottle? 190896 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2003 Updated: Jun 15, 2007re-rate: Cloudy tan colour. Aroma is more to the footy, mushroomy yeast side of things than to anything else, though there is a bit of doughy (there’s that yeast again) malt. Fresh, somewhat biscuity, malt character with a hint of spice and florals. The yeast is toned down quite a bit on the palate, but still lends a bit more foot than I want, like background feedback on my CD. Slight notch higher. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 14, 2006 Bottle as Bavik Ezel Wit (5.8 % ABV).
Hazy golden coloured with a white head.
Aroma of coriander, fruits and citrus.
Flavour of fruits, citrus and spices.
